Citroen is gearing up for stunning models of its C3 hatchback And C3 Aircross SUV comprising of lot many new attributes and enhancements. The refresh entails some aspects of a modern definition of cars, design, comfort, and safety, regifted and ready to give more value and a try the potential buyers. While both models prepare for their market launch, it is about time to take a closer look at the novelties and what they imply for the Citroen lineup.

Key Upgrades in the Citroen C3 Hatchback and C3 Aircross SUV

Citroen’s latest refresh for the C3 hatchback and C3 Aircross SUV marks a significant update in their feature set, aiming to bolster both aesthetics and functionality.

Exterior Enhancements

One of the most noticeable changes is in the exterior design. Both the Citroen C3 and C3 Aircross now come equipped with LED projector headlights, replacing the previous halogen units for improved visibility and a more modern look. The outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs) are now integrated with turn indicators, enhancing both safety and style. The front fenders have been updated with new Citroen badging, giving the vehicles a fresh, refined appearance. Additionally, a new rear windshield wiper with a washer function has been introduced, adding practicality to the updated design.

Interior and Comfort Features

Inside, the Citroen C3 has seen significant upgrades. The dashboard retains its familiar layout but now features a new 7-inch fully digital driver’s display, previously exclusive to the C3 Aircross SUV. Both models now come with automatic air conditioning, ensuring a comfortable cabin environment. The power window switches have been relocated from the centre console to the door pads, providing easier access and a more streamlined design. However, it is worth noting that there is still no push-button start-stop feature.

In terms of comfort, the Citroen C3 and C3 Aircross continue to offer a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Steering-mounted audio controls and a height-adjustable driver seat are also part of the package. The C3 Aircross SUV further benefits from roof-mounted AC vents for second-row passengers, enhancing rear-seat comfort.

Safety Upgrades

Safety has been a major focus in the update. Both the C3 hatchback and the C3 Aircross now come with six airbags, a significant upgrade from previous models. Additionally, new safety features include a hill hold assist, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and a rear parking camera, which collectively improve the overall safety profile of the vehicles.

Powertrain Options

The powertrain options for the updated Citroen C3 remain largely unchanged. It continues to offer a choice between a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 110 PS and 190 Nm, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, and a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine with 82 PS and 115 Nm, coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission. The Citroen C3 Aircross, on the other hand, is available with a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine delivering 110 PS and up to 205 Nm. This engine can be paired with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or an optional 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

Pricing and Rivals

The updated Citroen C3 and C3 Aircross are expected to be launched in India soon, with a likely premium over their current prices. The existing Citroen C3 is priced between Rs 6.16 lakh and Rs 9.12 lakh (ex-showroom, pan India). It competes with rivals such as the Maruti Wagon R, Maruti Celerio, Tata Tiago, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Tata Punch, and Hyundai Exter.

The larger Citroen C3 Aircross is currently priced between Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 14.11 lakh (ex-showroom, pan India). It goes up against competitors like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Honda Elevate. The Tata Curvv and Citroen Basalt SUV-coupe will also be stylish alternatives in the segment.

Conclusion

The upcoming launches of the updated Citroen C3 hatchback and C3 Aircross SUV bring a range of enhancements that are set to make these models more appealing to buyers. With new features and improvements across design, comfort, and safety, Citroen aims to strengthen its position in the competitive automotive market.
