2026 Kia Seltos Spied Again With Fresh Design Tweaks

The second-generation Kia Seltos is all set for a major revamp. With new design elements, premium interiors, and a confirmed hybrid powertrain, the upcoming model is expected to make its global debut later this year, followed by an India launch in early 2026.

The second-generation Seltos is right around the corner, and the SUV was spotted on various testing grounds yet again in the international market. The heavily camouflaged test mule showcases an all-new bold external design language with different mechanical configurations and technological updates. The new-gen Seltos is globally expected to premiere in late 2025 before arriving in India in early 2026.

Renewed External Look in Touches of EV5 Inspiration

The extensive camouflage may hide subtle changes to the exterior; on the other hand, these changes might be more than just slightly. It will most probably get a revised grille, new design LED headlamps, chunkier bumpers, and triangular LED taillights somewhat similar to those of the EV5.

Adding to the newness are dual-tone ORVMs and new designs for the alloy wheels. More rugged wheel arches should only help it remain competitive in this mid-size SUV space.

More Premium Cabin With Tech Upgrades

Interior-wise, the 2026 Kia Seltos is expected to be made more premium. Earlier spy shots point toward a dual-tone grey-silver interior with orange accents, adding sporty flair to an upscale environment. A possible highlight could be that 30-inch Trinity display that first made an entry in the Kia Syros. This advanced setup matches a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a 12.3-inch digital cluster, and a 5-inch touchscreen for AC controls. Other features, such as wireless charging, ventilated seats, and ADAS, are mostly expected to continue.

Hybrid Variant Confirmed for Global Markets

Kia has decided that the new Seltos shall get a hybrid powertrain catered to the global market. The hybrid variant is believed to be mating a 1.6L petrol engine with an electric motor mounted on the rear axle for an increase in fuel efficiency and performance. There has not yet been a confirmation from Kia about the hybrid variant for India, but it surely looks likely, with rising demands for electrified SUVs.

Powertrains for India Will Carry Forward

The 2026 Kia Seltos for India is expected to retain its current engine configurations:

  • 1.5L MPi Petrol (115PS/144Nm)

  • 1.5L Turbo Petrol (160PS/253Nm)

  • 1.5L Diesel (115PS/250Nm)

Gearbox options will include a 6-speed manual, iVT, and 6-speed automatic.

Timeline for Launch and Rivals

Next-gen Seltos will be globally unveiled by late 2025, while the India launch will occur by early 2026. The competition will remain the Hyundai Creta, Toyota Hyryder, Maruti Grand Vitara, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, and Honda Elevate, all heating up the compact SUV segment.
