2025 Hyundai Venue Spotted Testing in India – New Design, Features & Launch Timeline

The next-generation Hyundai Venue has been spotted testing in India for the first time. With a refreshed design and new features, the popular subcompact SUV is expected to launch later this year, taking on rivals like the Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, and Maruti Brezza.

Next-Gen Hyundai Venue Begins Testing in India

Hyundai has commenced road tests for the new-generation Venue in India, marking the first sighting of the updated model ahead of its expected launch later this year. The compact SUV, which has been a strong contender in the segment since its debut, is set to receive exterior styling updates, new technology, and improved features to maintain its competitive edge.

Exterior Changes: A Fresh, Modern Look

The heavily camouflaged test mule spotted on Indian roads gives a glimpse of what’s to come. One of the most noticeable changes is the introduction of new horizontal taillights, giving the rear end a more contemporary look. Additionally, the test car was seen with new wheel covers, likely indicating that it was a mid-spec variant.

The front end is also expected to undergo changes, including:

  • A redesigned grille

  • New headlamp units

  • Revised bumpers for a sportier stance

  • Updated alloy wheel designs for higher variants

Interior Upgrades: More Tech & Comfort Features

While the spy images do not reveal the interior, sources suggest that Hyundai will introduce significant upgrades, including:

  • A 360-degree camera for better visibility

  • Ventilated front seats, a feature that has become popular in the segment

  • New upholstery for a refreshed cabin feel

  • A redesigned dashboard layout with updated controls

These updates are expected to enhance the Venue’s premium appeal, making it more attractive to buyers looking for tech-laden compact SUVs.

Powertrain Options: No Mechanical Changes Expected

Under the hood, the next-gen Hyundai Venue is likely to retain its current set of engine options, ensuring a variety of choices for different driving preferences:

  • 1.2L NA Petrol (Manual Only)

  • 1.0L Turbo Petrol (Manual & DCT Automatic)

  • 1.5L Diesel (Manual & Automatic)

These engines are expected to be paired with the same five-speed manual, six-speed manual, seven-speed DCT, and six-speed torque converter automatic transmissions as the current model.

Launch Timeline & Competition

The new-gen Hyundai Venue is expected to launch in late 2025, making it a key competitor in the fast-growing subcompact SUV segment. Once launched, it will go head-to-head with the Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger.

Conclusion

The Hyundai Venue has been a popular choice among compact SUV buyers, and this upcoming facelift is expected to make it even more appealing. With a modern design, tech upgrades, and the same reliable powertrain options, Hyundai aims to keep the Venue at the top of its game in India’s competitive SUV market.
