The 2024 KTM Duke 250 is a motorcycle that has been launched for rupees 2.39 lakh. It is available in two color options: electronic orange and ceramic white. The bike borrows a lot from its elder sibling, the KTM Duke 390. It now comes with ride-by-wire technology and a quick shifter as standard. The bike has dropped 8 kilos compared to the predecessor, courtesy of the new set of wheels, brakes, and the new two-piece chassis. The company claims that these changes are responsible for the highest-ever power-to-weight ratio in the 250cc segment.
In terms of cosmetic updates, the bike looks aggressive and sporty with the new LED headlamp unit, redesigned rest frame with aluminum subframe, and the new underbelly exhaust. It definitely is one of the better-looking motorcycles in the 250cc segment. The tank panels have also been redesigned for a sharper look. Their angle is a little steep, and they are more extended than before.
In terms of features, there is a 5-inch LCD dash with a type-C charging port right beside the instrument cluster. There's a slipper clutch, a quick shifter, and a Supermoto mode on offer for the new generation 250 Duke. The seat height is at 800 mm, and the bike comes with 17-inch wheels on both ends. The bike also gets the new aluminum banana swing arm that supports the offset monoshock suspension. The wheels have also been redesigned. The wheel hub is hollow, and the front disc brake has been mounted on the spokes instead of the wheel hub. This has also helped in weight reduction.
Braking duties are done by a 320 mm disc up front and a 240 mm disc at the rear with dual-channel ABS. The fuel tank capacity has gone up by 1.5 liters from 13.5 liters on the older generation. The front suspension is taken care of by a WP Apex 43 mm upside-down fork. The 249cc single-cylinder engine comes mated with a 6-speed gearbox. The engine produces 30.57 BHP of power and 25 Newton meters of peak torque.
