The 2023 Mini Cooper Countryman comes with a choice of petrol, diesel, and electric powertrains, with a larger size compared to its predecessor measuring 4,433mm in length, 1,843mm in width, and 1,656mm in height. The interior has been updated to be more spacious and tech-savvy, with additional shoulder and elbow room for both front and rear passengers.
The new Mini Cooper Countryman is expected to go on sale in India in 2023.
The Mini Cooper Countryman will offer two electric powertrain options: a single-motor, rear-wheel-drive variant with 204 hp and 250 Nm of torque, and a dual-motor, four-wheel-drive variant with 313 hp and 494 Nm of torque. Both variants feature a 66.45 kWh battery with official ranges of 462 km and 433 km respectively, and can be rapid-charged at rates of up to 130 kW.
The petrol options include a 169 hp, 1.5-litre turbocharged engine, and a 218 hp, 2.0-litre turbocharged engine. There's also a John Cooper Works (JCW) All4 variant with a 2.0-litre unit offering 300 hp and 400 Nm of torque. A diesel engine option will also be available, though the specifications have not been revealed yet.
The price range for the Mini Cooper Countryman in India starts from ₹ 48,10,000.
The Mini Cooper Countryman has a fuel consumption rate of 15.3 km/l as per NEDC combined testing.
The exterior design reflects an evolution from the previous models, featuring an octagonal front grille, revamped headlights and tail lights, and reworked C-pillar treatment.
The interior showcases a minimalist look with a touchscreen-dominated dashboard, enlarged centre console with larger cupholders, extra legroom, and adjustable rear seat backrests. There's also a slight improvement in boot space with 460/1,450 litres of space, along with an underfloor cubby for storing EV charging cables.
The Mini Cooper Countryman will be the first Mini to offer Level 2 autonomous driver assistance systems, including semi-autonomous driving at speeds of up to 60 kph.
Both ICE and EV versions of the Mini Cooper Countryman will be offered with a range of three interior trims and eight Mini Experience modes.
