Driving licence in Telangana?

A driving licence in Telangana is a legal document required to drive any motor vehicle on public roads, as mandated under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. It is issued by the Transport Department through the Telangana Regional Transport Office (RTO) or Motor Vehicles Inspector's Office with jurisdiction over the applicant's residential area. Getting a driving licence in Telangana generally involves two stages: obtaining a Learner's Licence, followed by a Permanent Driving Licence. The application and related services are handled through the Telangana Transport Department and Parivahan Sarathi platforms.

Applications and related services for Learner's and Permanent Driving Licences can be accessed through the Telangana Transport Department and Parivahan Sarathi platforms, depending on the service.

  2. Locate the option for applying for a driving licence and select it.
  3. Fill in the application form with accurate personal details.

  7. Visit the allotted Telangana RTO on the scheduled date, along with a vehicle of the relevant class for the driving test.
  8. The test result is usually updated soon after it is completed.
  9. Applicants who do not clear the test may reappear after a short waiting period.

Note: The learner's licence must generally have been held for at least 30 days before appearing for the permanent driving licence test.

Applicants who prefer an in-person process may also visit the RTA Telangana driving licence office, or RTO Telangana driving licence office, for guidance on the same application.
