MY2025 Variant of BMW 3 Series LWB gets a Diesel Powertrain

Recently this month, BMW introduced the MY25 version of the 3 Series LWB. This refresh was made available in the initial stages with the petrol variant alone. The new update also introduces a new nameplate for a new model name, which was previously known as 3 Series Gran Limousine. It now also receives a diesel variant.

BMW has now introduced the diesel engine for the 3 Series LWB, priced from Rs. 62 lakh (ex-showroom). They come in two variants named 320Ld M Sport and 320Ld M Sport Pro, which draw power from a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 188bhp and 400Nm, along with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

While the model has been posted on the official website, deliveries are expected to start later.

More information on the Diesel Variant

Propelling the sedan is a diesel engine producing 187.6bhp and 400Nm of maximum torque, coupled with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. It has a top speed of 230 kmph and sprints from 0 to 100 kmph in a mere 7.6 seconds. The sedan also comes with a 59-litre fuel tank and a claimed mileage of 19.6 km/pl.

Features of the 3 Series LWB

For 2025, the BMW 3 Series LWB gets a number of updates, such as new LED headlamps with DRLs, a curved 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and powered, ventilated front seats.

The sedan also gets an ADAS suite for added safety, a panoramic sunroof, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. It also gets six airbags and a multi-zone climate control system, providing both comfort and protection to occupants.

Powertrain of the Petrol Variant

The petrol motor is a four-cylinder 2.0-litre turbo engine, with power being driven to the rear wheels through an eight-speed auto transmission. Its 255bhp and 400Nm result in a 6.2-second zero to 100kmph time.

Conclusion

With the introduction of the diesel engine, BMW has enhanced the 2025 3 Series LWB's appeal to include enthusiasts who appreciate the equilibrium between performance and efficiency. Contemporary features, enhanced safety technology, and an even more sophisticated appearance further solidify its position in the luxury sedan segment. With rollouts imminent, the new diesel variant offers the customer a tempting alternative to its petrol counterpart, offering an exhilarating drive with BMW's trademark comfort and innovation.
