India's first electric roadster, the MG Cyberster, will soon be on sale via the new MG Select dealerships. The two-seater sports car will target driving enthusiasts as well as those who enjoy the wind-in-the-hair drive.
The MG Cyberster is offered in three different configurations across the world. But India is receiving it only in the top-of-the-line form, with two engines, a main one at the back and an assist one at the front, making 503 horses and 535 newton-metres of torque.
Powertrain of the new car
Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in the high-performance MG Cyberster is a mere 3.2 seconds, and flat out, the electric roadster reaches a speed of 200 km/h. The two motors are driven by a 74.4 kWh (net) NMC battery pack and can be charged up to 7 kW (AC)/144 kW (DC). The customers can charge it from 10% to 100% via an AC charger in 12.5 hours. With a 150 kW DC charging, the 10-80% charge session is as short as 38 minutes.
On a charged battery, the MG Cyberster has a driving range of as much as 443 km, according to Europe's WLTP. The range, according to Indian driving conditions, will differ. JSW MG Motor can offer the car with a free home charger as a promotional offer.
