Mercedes-Benz Electric CLA to be listed on the Indian website and to be launched soon

India was a target of the 1st Gen CLA Class. It was placed below C Class and it was characterized by curvaceous styling with a Coupe sloping roofline and hard-to-resist frameless windows. That place is now taken by A Class Limousine. Since the new 3rd Gen CLA is only going to arrive here in the Electric variant, it will not conflict with the A Class Limousine's positioning.

Adding the 3rd Gen CLA Electric to their official site, the company states 'Experience the future of driving with all-new electric CLA". The company further adds that Electric CLA is a game-changer since it has a sleeker body and an elegant cockpit, accompanied by clever technology.

Officially, this car will be known as Mercedes-Benz CLA with EQ Technology. It boasts a futuristic new design language, yet remains unmistakably a CLA. The electric CLA will have a closed-off front grill adorned with small lit Mercedes-Benz logos. The central Mercedes-Benz logo is also lit up.

Exterior Highlights

LED headlights receive a three-pointed star LED DRL signature. The headlights are joined by an LED bar in the center. Air intake in the lower bumper and aerodynamic air curtains receive a gloss black finish. We can observe alloy wheels of up to 19 inches in diameter and flush door handles. Rear receives connected LED tail lights with a three-pointed star LED signature. Overall, the 3rd Gen Mercedes CLA appears quite dashing.

Swanky Interior Highlights

Internally, the 3rd Gen CLA with EQ Technology receives a new interior design that loads up to three screens based on pricier EQE and EQS models. There's a 14.6-inch middle infotainment screen, a 14-inch passenger screen, and a 10.25-inch instrument cluster.

On the Indian website, we can notice that it receives all three screens along with a fixed glass roof.

Powertrain Highlights

Talking of Indian website, Mercedes has promoted an 800V architecture, their newer 2-speed gearbox for electric powertrains, fast-charging of up to 350 kW with a claimed range of 750 km (WLTP) on a single charge. It is not clear if Mercedes will introduce a 250+ config with 268 bhp and 335 Nm RWD or the 350 4MATIC config with 350 bhp and 515 Nm dual motor setup.

Conclusion

With the upcoming arrival of the all-electric 3rd Gen Mercedes-Benz CLA in India, the luxury automobile manufacturer is quite evidently marching toward a more electrified future. By introducing the CLA with EQ Technology to its official Indian website, Mercedes-Benz shows serious intent to meet changing premium EV tastes. Loaded with state-of-the-art technology, a minimalist design language, and formidable performance credentials, the new electric CLA is ready to create a niche for itself in the Indian luxury EV market. Be it the fashion-conscious urban commuter or the tech-savvy enthusiast seeking the latest innovation on four wheels, the CLA EV is sure to impress on all counts.
