Mclaren Achieves The Milestone Of Selling 50 Supercars In India

McLaren achieves the milestone of selling 50 supercars in India.

McLaren has successfully sold over 50 supercars in India, it would sound like a very less number as this figure represents cumulative sales from the year 2022. Factor in this astonishing news is that the supercar maker produces a number of SUVs or sedans and the concept of supercars was relatively unknown in India before its launch here.

In India, McLaren has sold more than fifty supercars. Given that this figure represents the total revenue for 2022, it might not seem like much. But when you consider that the supercar manufacturer exclusively makes supercars and hypercars - no SUVs or performance sedans—was mostly unknown in India before coming here. Further, its starting price is almost Rs 4.5 crore.

Let’s gather more information about it.

What Makes it Unique!

The range-topping 720S and the new 750S were McLaren's best-selling vehicles in India, according to Lalit Choudary, dealer principal of McLaren Mumbai. This makes McLaren a unique brand.

To put things in perspective, Porsche sold 156 sports cars last year, but its lineup is nowhere as extensive as McLaren's. And take a look at Lamborghini, which sold 113 vehicles last year, with almost 40% of those being supercars.

Celebrations to mark a remarkable number

A Celebration Drive from Udaipur to Mount Abu and back was organized by McLaren to commemorate the sale of fifty automobiles, giving about a dozen McLaren owners a unique experience. The drive event combined McLaren's driver-focused driving experience with Rajasthan's excellent driving highways and distinctive picturesque landscapes. Prince Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar flagged off the ceremony at the iconic Manak Chowk.

A proud moment for the car maker

With a big smile, Choudary responded, "Superquick, just like the cars," when asked how the trip from 0 to 50 cars went. But really, we're happy to have created a thriving community of the best supercar aficionados in the nation, and it's a proud moment.

Speaking with some of the customers, it's evident that most of them are die-hard drivers who value McLaren's driver-centric approach to its supercars, including the ballistic performance, the approachable handling, the light yet sturdy carbon-fiber tub used for all of its cars, and the fact that the company still uses hydraulic steering. With the renowned MP4/1, McLaren, incidentally, brought lightweight and robust carbon-fiber chassis technology to Formula 1.

Conclusion

Hence, McLaren has made a strong statement in the Indian market that by selling around 50 supercars, Indians are tending to grow the interest towards the less sought supercars and hypercars, remarks a transition of mindset from the Indians point of view.
