Crossroads Mall: History
With the opening of Crossroads in 1999, Peninsula pioneered the concept of 'Shoppertainment.' It was the first of its kind, with the first international standard shopping mall in India, and it made shopping fun. It revolutionized the shopping experience and was the first to provide retailers with organized retail space.
The Idea
Retailing was an unorganized industry with single-product retail outlets at the time. The combination of shopping, entertainment, and dining was unprecedented. International brands were also becoming more aware of the region's need for high-quality retail space and growth opportunities. Therefore
Peninsula decided to create and launch Crossroads after seeing the opportunities.
About The Mall
It has 1,60,000 square feet of sprawling shopping space with three buildings—"Arcade," "Pyramid," and "Jammin"—connected by interconnected bridges.
