The Volkswagen Tiguan has been updated and launched at a Price of Rs 34.69 lakh (ex-showroom), the revised price is a result of a hike of Rs. 49,000 over the outgoing model. The updates include a dual-tone interior and an RDE(Real Driving Emission) compliant engine among other features. The cabin now gets a dual-tone treatment of grey and white, replacing the previous all-black interior. The centre console has now been integrated with a wireless charger and seat belt alert for all seats. Other safety features include adjustable headrests for all seats, hill-descent control, hill-start assist, six airbags and three-point seatbelts. The Volkswagen Tiguan now gets a park assist feature that allows the car to parallel park itself in empty spaces. During the operation, the driver remains in control of the accelerator and the brake.
The Volkswagen Tiguan uses a BSVI Phase II compliant 2.0-litre TSI engine mated to a seven-speed DCT that is good for 190 bhp and 320 Nm of torque. The company claims a frugality of 13.54 kmpl. The Tiguan locks horns with the likes of the Hyundai Tuscon, Citroen C5 Aircross, Jeep Compass to name a few.
The company is also in the works of making a Tiguan in the electric guise, based on the MEB+ platform, the electric Tiguan could get options of all-wheel drive, and rear-wheel drive with five and seven-seater configuration.
