Tata displayed the Tata Sierra EV concept at the Auto Expo, but there are rumours that the Tata Nano might return as an electric car. Tata Motors stopped producing the Nano hatchback in April 2020 after BS6 pollution standards went into effect. The ambitious undertaking of former Tata Chairman Ratan Tata was advertised as the world's most affordable automobile.
Tata Nano was subsequently discontinued despite having a starting price of under Rs 1 lakh. It failed to produce volume for the country's automobile manufacturer.
According to rumours, the carmaker is thinking over the possibility of reintroducing the Tata Nano with an electric motor; similar ideas have previously been spotted on Indian roads.
