The 2024 GT43 and GT53 models get a nip and tuck along with a new host of features. The engine remains the same.
Mercedes-AMG has revealed the 2024 GT 43 and GT 53 models. Both models get new styling and design elements that bring them closer to their V8 siblings, look-wise. The facelift includes a new grille and redesigned headlamp units. The V8 styling cues have been borrowed, this includes a larger black grille with the new front apron and rear diffuser. The user interface of the instrumentation and the infotainment unit has been updated with new graphics and animations. The company says that both cars offer greater levels of standard kit. Safety features include blind-spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking, and lane departure warning to name a few.
Powering both the GT 43 and GT 53 is the same 3.0-litre, turbocharged, inline-six petrol engine that makes a good 362 bhp and 500 Nm of torque for the GT 43 and 429 bhp with 520 Nm of torque in the GT 53. Both cars have the Mercedes’ mild-hybrid technology that offers an additional 21 bhp and 250 Nm of torque under hard acceleration. Both models get the Mercedes-AMG’s 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system that claims to provide enhanced handling and stability. Adaptive dampers are present on both models that adjust to road conditions. The GT 53’s electric motor enables an instant torque boost for quick acceleration, should a situation demand.
