Fuel prices by state
The fluctuating nature of fuel prices in India can be attributed to several reasons, but the primary cause is the amount of taxes in excise the government levies. Owing to this, there is a sizeable difference in fuel prices across the country. It ranges from Rs 95.28 per litre of petrol and Rs 90.29 per litre of diesel in Uttarakhand, one of the lowest prices for fuel in India, to a whopping Rs 110.48 for a litre of petrol and Rs 98.27 per litre of diesel in Andhra Pradesh.
