To escape the mundane day to day corporate life or to just explore the unexplored, there are plenty of reasons for someone to go on a road trip. Nothing beats the open roads with your favorite music on and a drive to your favorite destination. Absorbing the scenic atmosphere, road trips usually help in revitalizing the body and mind. But before heading out on a much-deserved road trip, one must make sure of a few things to make sure there are no hiccups and you can get the fullest out of your long weekend trip:

  1. Essential Documents- One must always carry all the hard copies of essential documents such as a Driving License, Registration Certificate, Pollution Certificate, and Insurance while being on a road trip. While one can produce the necessary documents online using DigiLocker, keep the hard copies handy just to be on the safer side as one might not find internet services everywhere.

  1. First Aid Kit- While being on a road trip, a First Aid Kit is a must. No one knows when a mishap might strike or maybe a fellow passenger requires urgent medical care. Having a first aid kit on board would help in any such situation. One must check for a few items such as Band-aids, Antiseptic cream, Medicines for motion sickness and vomiting, glucose, cotton, and bandages before packing the medical kit for the road trip.

  1. Phone Chargers- In today's day and age, mobile phones are essential for any travel plans. Mobile phones are required not just to make calls but also to make payments, look for directions and even use it as a flashlight. One must always carry a car phone charger with them while on a road trip.

  1. Puncture Kit- A puncture can halt your journey anywhere. Indian roads, especially in tier 3 cities, are more often than not in bad shape. One must always have a puncture kit onboard just in case there are no mechanic shops around to help you out. One must have all the necessary components in working condition such as jack and wrenches

  1. Spare Tyre- A spare tyre should always be in your car in case your car breaks down and you need a replacement on the go. Keep the spare tyre inflated and check for any punctures before leaving for the road trip.
