E-Challan Process And Payment in Vadodara Gujarat

The rapid digital penetration and mobile usage have given way to the modernization of many traditional sectors and services, which were inefficient and time-consuming. Like many states in India, the Gujarat Traffic department has followed suit in this digital transition after the amendment of the motor vehicle act of 2019.

You can now pay the penalty for breaking Traffic online using the E-challan payment method. A sophisticated computer-generated e-challan is issued to all traffic violators in Gujarat, India, by the Traffic Police.

E-Challan Implementation Process Flow In Traffic

The procedure of the Traffic e-challan System is:

  • Step 1: Issuing an e-challan
    • The defaulters are caught on CCTV cameras installed by the traffic police.
    • The Enforcement Officer obtains the defaulter's information from the Vahan and Sarathi databases and determines the crime or offence committed, including registration and driver's license number.
    • Following this, an e-challan is issued to the offender through an SMS to their associated mobile number. The penalty amount is automatically computed based on the committed offence.
  • Step 2: Pay your fine with an e challan
    • You can pay your fine by scanning the QR code you received, or you can pay cash at the RTO office. Make sure you clear the fines within 60 days of issuance, or else you might have to face legal consequences.

How To Check The Status Of Penalties For Traffic Violations Online on e-challan Gujarat?

The procedure for checking the status of traffic e-Challan fines online is as follows.

  • You must go to the official website of the Gujrat transportation department
  • Select the online traffic challan payment area.
  • You must provide the car registration number and enter the captcha
  • The penalty amount will be displayed on the vehicle's screen.
  • Then, you must select a payment method, such as a debit card, credit card, or e-wallet, and proceed with the payment.
  • You will receive a message confirming the online traffic challan payment after it has been completed.

What Happens If You Don't Pay The E-Challan For Traffic?

Nowadays, traffic rules are stringent. Failure to pay the traffic e-challan or penalty within the deadline has legal ramifications.

If you do not pay for any reason, a summons from the court will be sent to the residential address of the license holder, and you will be requested to make an explanation in front of the judge on a traffic violation.

If you fail to appear in court after being summoned and pay the traffic e-challan, your driver's license will be suspended. As a result, not paying the traffic e-challan is not an option.

How To Avoid Receiving A Traffic E-Challan?

Some simple steps one should follow to avoid paying the Vadodara e-challan are:

  • You should keep all necessary paperwork and papers in the vehicle up to date, such as the vehicle's registration, insurance papers, and PUC, because the traffic police may conduct an inspection at any time.
  • Always wear a helmet/seat belt while hitting the roads.
  • Avoid overspeeding and talking over a phone while driving
  • Avoid overloading your commercial vehicle, and do not drive on the wrong side.

Conclusion

The Indian government has established this technique to make traffic services more convenient and easy for the general public. The program traffic e-challan is coupled with two web portal apps introduced by the Indian government, namely Vahan and Sarathi. These two applications provide you with several benefits and features. Drive safe!
