2021 Land Rover 90 Three-Door Defender
The famous three-door Defender 90 was released in India by British luxury automobile maker Land Rover at costs from Rs 76.57 LKH (ex-showroom). In late 2020, the five-door Defender 110 came into the country. Here's all you need to know about this all-new 90 Defender.
Design
Some months ago, the Defender received the World Car Design for 2021. This off-road SUV has a state-of-the-art design yet still maintains the classic traits of past generations.
The SUV is not a conventional body-on-frame construction but rather a monocoque platform. It is a true off-road SUV in the first place, despite being constructed on a monocoque.
Land Rover has created the 4-corner Defender series. The front end is made of Defender letters and a series of horizontal grill laths below. The headlights are LED with daytime running light in the form of a crescent. On the back of the boot is a replacement tyre, and quadruple lighting is attached to the boot.
Interior
Not only an off-road car, but the Defender has an SUV in luxury. It offers many features. Land Rover now provides a complete digital Defender cockpit with a 12.3-inch driver display and 10-inch touchscreen infotainment. It is based on the newest linked car system, Pivi Pro.
The company provides a wide variety of cutting levels with the SUV; therefore, the basic level variation has fabric-covered seats. Leather upholstery for the seats is featured in the top variants. In addition, this 3-door Defender 90 has a front-row bench to accommodate six people.
Features
The 90 Defender is equipped with six airbags, panoramic sunroof, warm side view mirrors, auto-dimming driver side view mirror, dual area temperature control, 3D-surround vision camera, and ClearSight inside rearview mirrors (available in some versions). Another feature that makes it the king of the highway SUV luxury league is depth wading. The Defender 90 features an 850mm wading depth with a bow spring and a massive 900mm air suspension.
The three-door Defender 90 is available in 10 exterior colours - Fuji White, Hakuba Silver, Tasman Blue, Yulong White, Pangea Green, Gondwana Stone, Eiger Gray, Silicon Silver, and Carpathian Grey. The Defender 90 is available in several exterior colours.
Engine and Transmission
There are three distinct motor choices for the 3-door Defender 90. There is a 4-cylinder 1997cc torque engine of 296 horsepower and 400Nm, and 6-cylinder torque of 2995 cc, of which there are 394bhp and 550Nm of torque. In addition, Land Rover provides a straight six 2996cc diesel engine, which produces a torque of 296bhp and 650Nm.
The petrol and diesel engines are integrated with a mild-hybrid 48-volt system, which comprises a belt-powered boost generator for the automobile and a start/stop system. It provides an extra power boost.
