The Kia EV6 is a futuristic electric car that shows the future of eco-friendly travel. The sleek and aerodynamic shape of EV6 makes it more efficient. Its electric powertrain performs great. It has quick acceleration and a long range that is perfect for daily commutes and travel.
The EV6 of the Kia car has a spacious and modern interior with a big screen and advanced driving assistance. Fast charging abilities make charging a breeze and reduce downtime. The EV6 is also environmentally friendly and helps keep our planet clean.
The all-new Kia EV6 is a ground-breaking and the first dedicated electric vehicle (EV) from the brand in India. The car is a mix of an SUV and a hatchback and sets the standard for the future of sustainable transportation. With a high-range battery, the EV6 is designed for long-distance travel and is packed with cutting-edge technology and comfort.
The car has been crafted for a special class of people looking for an EV that's practical, stylish and packed with features. The EV6 goes against the likes of the Volvo XC40 Recharge, while there is also a less-expensive alternative in the form of the Hyundai IONIQ 5.
Kia EV6 was revealed to the world in March 2021, followed by its launch in India in June 2022. The car has been highly inspired by crossover and looks highly futuristic and modern.
The car was launched in two trims in India, namely, GT Line RWD at Rs. 59.96 lakhs and the top-spec GT Line AWD at Rs. 64.95 lakhs, ex-showroom. It is presently imported into the Indian market as completely built units (CBU), with only 100 units allotted in 2022.
With an overwhelming response from across the country, the company has managed to sell over 432 units since its launch. The car has been recently bestowed with the crown of the 2023 World Performance Car at the New York International Auto Show.
At first glance, the EV6 appears to be something different, and the striking design gives it a unique road presence. The car is built on the e-GMP platform shared with sibling Hyundai IONIQ 5 and falls something in between an SUV and a hatchback.
The headlights are nicely enclosed inside the eye-lash-styled LED DRLs. The sleek faux grille resides beneath the clamshell bonnet, with the air dam located at the lower section of the bumper.
From the sides, the EV6 looks seamless and flowing, with the roofline courteously blending into the spoiler. The crystal-cut 19-inch alloy wheels not only look pleasing but also enhance the aero efficiency.
The rear profile is equally striking, with the LED taillamps extending across, making the shape of an arc and mirrored by the textured panel below, which also sports the turn indicators. Overall, the car looks unique and charming.
The cutting-edge cabin is minimalist, with the digital stuff on the dashboard focused towards the driver. There is a nice dose of innovation inside. The materials used are of high quality, especially for the dashboard and the doors. The cabin also features sustainable materials, including vegan leather accents for the seats and the steering.
The dashboard boasts a large curved display that sports two 12.3-inch screens. One is used for infotainment, while the other act as a digital driver display. The touchscreen infotainment comes with wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and the 14-speaker Meridian premium audio system offers high-end decibels.
The car comes with some stand-out connected car features that make driving more convenient. These include remote climate control, remote charging control, surround view monitoring, remote engine start, AI voice control and navigation.
The passengers are pampered with features like 10-way electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats, head-up display, sunroof, dual-zone air conditioner, push-button start, rain sensing wiper and wireless smartphone charger.
The driving position is upright, with ample space at the front. At the rear, three adults can sit abreast comfortably with excellent legroom. The seat back can be reclined at a touch of a button giving a really pleasant and comfy feeling.
Boot space of 520 l is more than enough; however, you can increase the luggage up to 1300 l by using the 60:40 rear seat split functionality.
The safety equipment is top-notch, and you get plenty for the money.
The EV6 comes with 8 airbags, with a braking mechanism including ABS, brake assist and multi-collision brake assist and all-wheel disc brakes.
The stability is ensured by features like ESC, hill start assist and vehicle stability management.
The most interesting aspect of this vehicle is the range of the advanced driver assistance system (ADAS). These include forward collision avoidance assist, lane keep assist, blind spot collision detection and avoidance, rear-cross traffic avoidance and driver attention warning. The 360-degree camera plays a crucial role in performing many of these tasks.
The EV6 gets a powerful 77.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that makes 229 horsepower and 350 Nm in the GT Line RWD variant, while the same motor produces 325 horsepower and 605 Nm torque in the AWD model.
EVs are quick, and the Kia EV6 doesn’t disappoint in this department at all. The acceleration is impressively quick, and the speed builds linearly right up to the top speed of 192 kmph. The claimed 0-100 kmph sprint comes in just 5.2 seconds.
The handling is also remarkable as the car goes around the corner brilliantly. During the real-world speed and corner encounters, the body roll is well contained, given its nearly 2-tonne weight. The steering weight is decent, with a below-average feel and feedback.
The car feels planted at cruising speeds, and the braking system offers good enough bite even during panic situations. The vehicle also offers regeneration motor braking, which can be adjusted via sports paddles on the steering wheels.
The Eco, Normal and Sport driving modes alter the engine and dampers settings to offer different driving experiences. The Normal is ideal in most situations, while Sport mode shifts all the power and torque to deliver a blistering driving experience.
Another interesting aspect of the car is the option of powering electrical devices such as laptops and refrigerators and even transferring charge to another EV6.
The car can be fast charged from 10 to 80% in 18 min using a 350 kW DC charger. Charging the same amount via a 50 kW charger will take about 73 min. The car also comes with a 22 kW standard wall box charger, which may take over 8 h for a full charge.
EVs are the future of mobility. Therefore, when you own such a futuristic eco-friendly luxury vehicle, you must go a step ahead and choose revolutionary car ownership services. The Park+ app lets you reserve parking space near your destination and offers services like doorstep car washing, car insurance, FASTag recharge, checking real-time traffic challans and much more at your fingertips.
The brand also aims to empower businesses and fleet operators by offering them to set up EV charging stations at their desired locations, such as hotels, malls, residential societies, etc. Download the app now and explore immense possibilities.

Kia EV6 GT Facelift: 650hp Beast with Updates from Hyundai Ioniq 5 N
The Kia EV6 GT, already a favorite among performance EV enthusiasts, is set to receive a significant update, borrowing heavily from its sibling, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N. The updated EV6 GT will pack a punch with a new 650hp powertrain, cosmetic enhancements, and technological upgrades designed to elevate its driving experience. This news highlights Kia’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of EV performance. ## Performance: A Powerhouse on Wheels At the heart of the updated [Kia EV6 GT](https://parkplus.io/new-cars/kia-car/ev6/gt-line-variant) is a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup closely related to the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N. This powertrain delivers an impressive 610hp and 740Nm in its standard mode, but the stakes are raised further when the GT drive mode is activated. In this mode, the EV6 GT unleashes a staggering 650hp and 770Nm of torque. For comparison, the outgoing EV6 GT produces 584hp, while the Ioniq 5 N boasts a 3.4-second sprint from 0 to 100kph. Though Kia hasn’t yet disclosed specific performance figures, yet it’s expected to improve upon the outgoing EV6 GT’s already blistering 3.5-second acceleration time. ## Simulated Automatic Gearbox: A Touch of ICE Nostalgia One of the standout features of the updated EV6 GT is the inclusion of a simulated automatic gearbox, similar to the setup found in the [Hyundai Ioniq 5 N](https://parkplus.io/new-cars/hyundai-car/ioniq-5) and the recently revealed Kia EV9 GT. This system is designed to mimic the feel of a combustion-engine performance car by simulating gear shifts, limiting torque, and altering the soundscape to resemble engine revs. Drivers can operate the system in automatic mode or take control via paddle shifters mounted behind the steering wheel. For those who prefer a more traditional EV driving experience, the system can also be disabled entirely. ## Improved Battery and Range [Kia](https://parkplus.io/new-cars/kia-car) has equipped the updated EV6 GT with a larger 84kWh battery, a significant upgrade from the outgoing model’s 77kWh pack. This enhancement is expected to boost the car’s range slightly beyond the current model’s official 423km rating. While precise range figures haven’t been revealed, the larger battery underscores Kia’s focus on balancing performance with practicality. ## Exterior and Interior Updates The updated EV6 GT is expected to feature styling tweaks inspired by Kia’s latest EV lineup, including the EV3, EV5, and EV9. While official images of the facelifted EV6 GT have not been released, the cosmetic changes will likely include sharper lines, updated lighting elements, and a more aggressive stance to match its enhanced performance credentials. Inside, the EV6 GT will benefit from a refreshed cabin, featuring a new three-spoke steering wheel and updates to the overall design for a more modern and driver-focused aesthetic. These changes are expected to bring the EV6 GT in line with Kia’s latest interior design language, emphasizing luxury and technology. ## India Launch: What to Expect While Kia currently sells the pre-facelift EV6 in GT Line guise in India, the GT performance variant is unlikely to make its way to the Indian market, at least in the near future. The facelifted EV6, however, is expected to debut in India next year, bringing some of the design and technological updates of the global model to Indian shores. ## Kia EV6 GT: The Bigger Picture The Kia EV6 GT’s updates reflect a broader trend in the EV industry, the blending of high performance with cutting-edge technology and practicality. With the new powertrain, simulated automatic gearbox, and larger battery, the EV6 GT is poised to set a new benchmark for performance EVs. This facelift also underscores the synergy between [Hyundai](https://parkplus.io/new-cars/hyundai-car) and Kia as they continue to share platforms and technologies to push the boundaries of EV innovation. The Ioniq 5 N and EV6 GT exemplify this partnership, offering a glimpse into the future of high-performance electric mobility. ## Conclusion The updated Kia EV6 GT is shaping up to be a game-changer in the performance EV segment. With its 650hp powertrain, simulated gearbox, and refined aesthetics, it promises to deliver an exhilarating driving experience that bridges the gap between traditional performance cars and cutting-edge EVs. While India may not see the GT variant anytime soon, the facelifted EV6’s arrival next year will still bring much of the innovation and design evolution that Kia has introduced globally. For performance enthusiasts worldwide, the EV6 GT represents a thrilling step forward in the electrification of speed and style. Also Read: 1. Kia EV6 GT to Get 650hp Powertrain from Hyundai Ioniq 5 N
The Kia EV6 GT, known for its exhilarating performance, is set to receive a major update featuring a powertrain closely related to the one in the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N. This significant upgrade will boost the EV6 GT's performance, making it a true contender in the high-performance EV segment. ## A Power Boost for the EV6 GT The updated [EV6 GT](https://parkplus.io/new-cars/kia-car/ev6) will feature a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup derived from the Ioniq 5 N, producing an impressive 650hp and 770Nm of torque in its GT mode. This is a considerable upgrade from the outgoing EV6 GT, which delivered 584hp. With these enhancements, the EV6 GT is expected to improve upon its 0-100kph time of 3.5 seconds. For comparison, the Ioniq 5 N achieves the same sprint in 3.4 seconds. While Kia hasn’t disclosed the exact performance figures yet, the power boost ensures it will be faster and more dynamic than its predecessor. ## Simulated Automatic Gearbox for a Performance Feel [Kia](https://parkplus.io/new-cars/kia-car) will also equip the updated EV6 GT with a simulated automatic gearbox, first introduced in the [Hyundai Ioniq 5 N](https://parkplus.io/new-cars/hyundai-car/ioniq-5). This system replicates the power delivery and shifting feel of a combustion engine. It uses artificial "engine" sounds and simulated gear shifts for an immersive experience. Drivers can operate the gearbox in automatic mode, use steering-mounted paddles for manual control, or disable the feature entirely for a traditional EV driving experience. This innovation caters to enthusiasts seeking the familiar engagement of a performance car. ## Larger Battery and Improved Range The updated EV6 GT will house a larger 84kWh battery, up from the previous model's 77kWh pack. This upgrade is expected to marginally increase its range, currently rated at 423km on a single charge. The new battery also supports the car’s increased power output, ensuring a balance between performance and practicality. ## Styling and Interior Updates While no official images of the updated EV6 GT have been released, it is expected to adopt design elements from the facelifted EV6 range. Influenced by the EV3, EV5, and EV9 models, the facelift will likely include sharper styling and an updated interior featuring a new three-spoke steering wheel and enhanced materials. ## Availability in India In India, Kia currently offers the pre-facelift EV6 in the GT Line guise. Although the facelifted EV6 is expected to arrive in the Indian market next year, there are no indications that the GT performance variant will be launched here. The Kia EV6 GT’s updates represent a significant leap forward in the electric performance segment, combining raw power, cutting-edge tech, and refined aesthetics.
