The Kia Carens facelift will be launched in India next month, with its all-electric MPV variant debuting two months later in June. The 2025 Carens facelift will feature major updates to both its exterior and interior. The Carens EV will likely have a similar design, but it will include modifications tailored to electric vehicles.
Exterior Changes in Kia Carens 2025
Although spy shots of the Carens facelift have not revealed all the details, it is evident that the bonnet line is higher, which gives the MPV a more SUV-like appearance. It is anticipated that the design of the headlight and daytime running lamps will resemble those found on the Syros, whereas the rear will probably include vertically stacked taillights linked by an LED light bar.
The test mule features dual-tone alloy wheels with a new design, yet they appear to be the same 16-inch size as those on the outgoing model.
Interior Changes in Kia Carens 2025
Until now, spy photos have not revealed the interior of the Carens facelift. However, we anticipate minor modifications to the dashboard, switches, toggles, and buttons—all of which will be similar to those in the Seltos—as well as additional features. The highest-spec variants will probably feature Level 2 ADAS and a 360-degree camera.
Engines of the new Kia Carens Facelift
The Carens comes with three engine choices: a petrol 1.5-litre engine with 115 hp, a direct injection turbo-petrol 1.5-litre engine with 160 hp, and a diesel 1.5-litre engine with 116 hp. The expectation is that these will carry on with the facelift.
The petrol variant with the 115 hp engine features a 6-speed manual transmission, whereas the turbo-petrol offers options for a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
For the diesel engine, you can opt for either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
Price and Rivals of the Kia Carens 2025
With the current price range of the Kia Carens being Rs 10.60 lakh to Rs 19.70 lakh, it is anticipated that the refreshed MPV will be priced slightly higher, falling within Rs 11 lakh to Rs 20 lakh.
The lower variants of the Carens compete with the Maruti Ertiga (priced between Rs 8.84 lakh and Rs 13.13 lakh) and the Toyota Rumion (Rs 10.54 lakh to Rs 13.83 lakh).
However, the higher variants have some price and proposition overlap with models such as the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, and MG Hector.
Conclusion
The upcoming Kia Carens facelift and Carens EV are set to bring significant updates to the MPV segment in India. With refreshed exterior styling, expected interior enhancements, and the continuation of its versatile engine options, the facelifted Carens aims to strengthen its position in the market.
Meanwhile, the introduction of the all-electric Carens EV in June marks Kia’s expansion into the growing EV segment, likely offering a similar design with EV-specific modifications. While pricing is expected to see a slight increase, the Carens will continue to compete with models across different price brackets, appealing to both budget-conscious buyers and those looking for a more premium MPV experience.
