Under the hood, the Citroen Basalt is expected to house the same 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine found in the C3 Aircross and the C3 hatchback. This engine is capable of delivering 110 PS of power and up to 205 Nm of torque. The vehicle is likely to offer two transmission options: a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic. These powertrain options are designed to provide a balanced combination of performance and fuel efficiency.

The Citroen Basalt is anticipated to hit the Indian market in August, with an expected starting price of Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). Additionally, it will challenge other popular models in the segment, including the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Volkswagen Taigun, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, Citroen C3 Aircross, Honda Elevate. The Citroen Basalt’s unique blend of style, features, and performance is likely to make it a compelling choice for consumers.

The interior, resembling the C3 Aircross, offers a blend of comfort and technology, while the exterior design ensures that the vehicle stands out on the road.
