2 Family Cars to launch in the next 2 weeks: Dates and Details here

The first week of May 2025 will see two big product launches from Kia and MG. The South Korean manufacturer is set to launch the refreshed Kia Carens on 8th May, while JSW MG Motor India will launch the Windsor EV, which now gets a bigger battery pack. Both MPVs rule their respective segments and are sought after for their large cabin space and utility.

Let's take a look at what these two new family vehicles have to offer.

  1. 2025 Kia Carens

The new Kia Carens (new suffix) is scheduled to go on sale on May 8, 2025, and coexist alongside the current Carens. The MPV will also undergo dramatic alterations both within and without, in line with the Syros subcompact SUV. To upgrade its cabin experience, Kia could fit the new Carens with a bigger touchscreen infotainment system, a new fully-digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, a 360 degree camera and Level 2 ADAS suite. It may also be available with fresh upholstery and colours.

No modifications will be made to its engine configuration. The 2025 Kia Carens will retain the 115bhp, 1.5L petrol, 160bhp turbo-petrol, and 116bhp turbo diesel engine options. Transmissions will also be retained from the existing model in the form of a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed iMT, and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.

  1. MG Windsor EV Long-Range

Launch of the MG Windsor EV Long-Range version will be announced at a later time. The same has, however, been announced to make showrooms in the first fortnight of May 2025. This is an electric MPV that shall have a battery pack of 50.6 kWh on board, yielding a range of 460km (CLTC). The very same powertrain arrangement does the job onthe Indonesia-market Wuling Cloud EV. Its power output and torque value shall be 136 bhp and 200Nm, respectively.

With the bigger battery pack, the 2025 MG Windsor EV Long-Range will offer a top speed of 175kmph. It is capable of doing 0 to 100kmph in 8.6 seconds. MG may also bestow the Windsor with the ADAS suite, which will be limited to the top-of-the-line trims. The exterior design and cabin layout will remain unchanged.

Conclusion

The early part of May 2025 promises to be an interesting time for family car buyers, with two exciting launches from Kia and MG. The new Kia Carens arrives with a wide range of premium features without diluting its dependable engine options, making it an even stronger choice for families looking for comfort and practicality. In the meantime, the MG Windsor EV Long-Range meets the increasing demand for EVs with remarkable range, potent performance, and the added advantage of ADAS features in upper trims. Both models continue to focus on space, tech, and affordability, making them leaders in the MPV category.
