Xiaomi SU7 scored a 5-star rating in C-NCAP crash tests. The overall safety score stands at 93.5%, being approximately 8.7% higher than the rating averages found in C-NCAP results.

Although a 5-star safety rating is itself worthy of praise, the Xiaomi SU7 has attained the maximum rating among all vehicles tested by C-NCAP, according to 2024 testing procedures. It practically makes the Xiaomi SU7 the safest vehicle in China. A real milestone, particularly given the concerns raised by some critics regarding the safety of the sedan.

In the child safety assessment, Xiaomi SU7 got a perfect 3 out of 3 points. The total score in occupant protection tests was 106.573 out of 113.

Active Safety and other details

In the Active Safety category, the Xiaomi SU7 scored 95.25%. During tests of how well headlights and Automated Emergency Braking (AEB) worked, the grades were near 100%.

LiDAR had a major impact on SU7 receiving high scores in driver assistance system testing. In VRU tests, Xiaomi SU7 obtained a grade of 90.42%. These tests also cover leg and head protection of pedestrians and the AEB function, too. SU7's performance in these tests was 13.14% better compared to the C-NCAP average

Conclusion

The Xiaomi SU7 has already set the benchmark for EV safety, receiving a 5-star C-NCAP rating with a phenomenal composite score of 93.5%. With best-in-class occupant protection, cutting-edge active safety features, and a robust body structure, the SU7 is one of the safest electric vehicles on the market. The employment of cutting-edge technologies such as LiDAR and an all-encompassing ADAS suite by Xiaomi has played a prominent role in giving the company outstanding performance in crash tests. Essentially, the Xiaomi SU7 not only persuades customers of its reliability but also sets a new standard for safety for the rapidly expanding EV market.
