VW Golf GTI Second Batch Confirmed for India | Price & Specs
Volkswagen India introduced the 2025 Golf GTI via CBU at an ex-showroom price of ₹53 lakh. The car was limited to just 150 units in its opening allocation, and every car was snapped up during pre-launch bookings.
Buoyed by this response, the company has green-lit a second batch of 100 units, expected to arrive by early 2026. Pre-bookings for this batch are likely to open towards year-end.
Under the bonnet, the Golf GTI packs a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine mated to a seven-speed DSG gearbox. This setup delivers 265 bhp and 370 Nm of torque, pushing the hatch from 0–100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds.
Top speed is electronically capped at 267 km/h. With its adaptive suspension and torque-vectoring front differential, the GTI promises sharp responses and composed handling on twisty roads.
The initial allocation’s full booking surprised many, given the Polo GTI’s muted reception in 2016. Back then, Volkswagen struggled to shift its performance hatch and offered hefty discounts.
This time around, the Golf GTI’s blend of modern tech, refined cabin, and hot-hatch prowess has resonated strongly with Indian buyers, proving there is a market for premium performance cars when executed right.
Exterior: Signature honeycomb grille, red brake calipers, dual exhaust tips.
Interior: Leather-trimmed sports seats, 10-inch touchscreen infotainment, digital cockpit.
Safety: Six airbags, ESC, ABS with EBD, hill hold assist.
Colours: Pure White, Reflex Silver, and Deep Black.
While VW hasn’t confirmed exact arrival dates, expect the second batch to land by January–February 2026. Enthusiasts keen on owning one can watch Volkswagen India’s official channels for booking announcements towards December 2025.
The bottom line is that the swift sell-out of Volkswagen’s Golf GTI underlines a growing appetite for premium performance hatches in India. With another 100 units on the way, eager buyers have a fresh chance to own this blend of everyday usability and racetrack thrills. Keep an eye out later this year for booking details.
