Volvo EX90 India Unveil Set For August 18, 2026
  • Volvo EX90 to be unveiled in India on August 18, 2026

  • Flagship electric SUV gets Level 3 ADAS and two battery options

Volvo has officially announced that its next electric model for India will break cover soon. The EX90, the brand's flagship electric SUV, is set to be unveiled in the country on August 18, 2026. Once launched, it will become Volvo's second fully electric offering in India, joining the EX30 in the automaker's growing zero-emission lineup.

Design Draws From The XC90 With A Modern Twist

Volvo has clearly borrowed the silhouette of the XC90 for its electric sibling, though the EX90 carries enough visual tweaks to stand on its own. Up front, it gets a slimmer set of LED daytime running lamps arranged in Volvo's familiar Thor's Hammer pattern, along with vertically stacked LED headlamps and a blanked-off grille that still carries the brand's iron mark logo.

The SUV rides on 20-inch alloy wheels and features an integrated roof spoiler, along with Volvo lettering spread across the tailgate.

At the rear, C-shaped LED tail lamps stretch into the tailgate itself, while an additional vertical light strip sits on either side of the windscreen, a small but distinctive touch that separates it from its combustion-engined relative.

Cabin Gets A Long List Of Convenience And Safety Tech

Step inside and the EX90 reveals itself as Volvo's most technologically loaded model yet. It comes fitted with Level 3 autonomous driving assistance, a 14.5-inch vertically oriented touchscreen for infotainment, a nine-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13.2-inch head-up display.

Other equipment includes four-zone climate control, a 360-degree camera system, a panoramic sunroof, vehicle-to-load technology, over-the-air update capability, powered front seats, a wireless charging pad and a sound system tuned by Bose.

Internationally, buyers can specify the EX90 with four, six or seven seats, giving families a genuine flexible option within the range.

Two Battery Options Offer Different Power And Range Figures

Globally, the EX90 is offered with a choice of two battery packs. The larger 106kWh unit powers an all-wheel-drive, dual-motor setup that produces as much as 680bhp and 780Nm, with a claimed range of up to 608km on a full charge.

Buyers who prioritise value over outright performance can opt for the 92kWh pack, which drives the rear wheels through a single motor good for 333bhp and 480Nm, returning a claimed range of 565km. Whether both variants will make it to Indian shores, or whether Volvo will trim the lineup to a single configuration, remains to be confirmed closer to the unveiling.

With the unveiling date now locked in, prospective buyers do not have long to wait for a first proper look at what is shaping up to be Volvo's most feature-rich model for the Indian market yet.
