Volkswagen is stepping up its EV game with the brand-new ID Every1 concept. After lots of teasers, the German car giant has finally shown off what could be its most budget-friendly electric vehicle yet.
We can expect production to begin in 2027, the ID Every1 is designed to bring electric driving to everyone. It’s described as “from Europe, for Europe,” meaning it’s built with the needs of European drivers in mind.
A Nod to the Past with a Modern Twist
Imagine a car that pays homage to the classic VW Up while embracing modern technology and style. That’s exactly what the ID Every1 does. Its design hints at its heritage with proportions and details that remind us of the beloved Up, yet it feels entirely fresh.
For example, the front of the car sports a cheerful, almost smiling face thanks to its blacked-out faux grille, large LED headlamps, and contrasting black trim on the bumper.
These design choices give the ID Every1 a timeless look that’s both playful and practical.
The side profile is equally appealing with gently sculpted wheel arches and flush door handles that add to its smooth, uninterrupted design.
With 19-inch wheels and a design tip of the hat to the first-generation Golf through its C-pillar, the ID Every1 manages to blend classic cues with a futuristic vibe.
Compact Yet Clever: The Size and Structure
Measuring 3880mm in length, the ID Every1 is slightly smaller than some of Volkswagen’s other concepts, like the 4050 mm-long ID 2all. This more compact size makes it ideal for urban driving.
Up to the A-pillars, it shares similarities with the larger ID 2all concept, but then it shifts gears with a shorter wheelbase and a smaller battery, proving that sometimes less really is more.
Smart and Simple Inside
Step inside the ID Every1, and you’ll find an interior that’s as cool as it is practical. The cabin is minimalist and designed for a four-seater setup, making it perfect for city trips.
The centerpiece is a large, floating infotainment screen that dominates the dashboard, giving you all the information you need at a glance.
For those who still prefer physical buttons, there’s a handy band below the screen to control temperature, heating, and volume.
Other smart features include a unique two-spoke squared-out steering wheel and AC vents that mimic the shape of the car’s headlamps. The center console is mounted on rails, meaning you can slide it from the front to the rear compartment—an innovative touch that shows Volkswagen’s focus on flexibility and modern convenience.
Even more interesting is the removable Bluetooth speaker placed right between the driver and passenger.

Cutting-Edge Tech and Software
One of the coolest aspects of the ID Every1 is its new software-defined vehicle architecture. Developed in partnership with the American EV start-up Rivian, this system is designed to be super flexible.
For the ID Every1, it’s been stripped down to fit perfectly, while more premium models in the future might boast extra features.
The best part?
It supports over-the-air updates, meaning your car can get smarter and more feature-rich with time, all without needing a visit to the service center.

Under the Hood: What to Expect
Though Volkswagen hasn’t spilled all the technical secrets yet, we do know a few key details about the ID Every1. It’s built on a modified version of the front-wheel-drive MEB Entry platform, a sturdy base for many of Volkswagen’s electric vehicles.
The electric motor in this concept produces about 95 horsepower, letting the car hit speeds up to 130 kilometers per hour—more than enough for city driving.
When it comes to range, Volkswagen is promising at least 250 kilometers on a single charge.
While battery capacity and specific chemistry details remain under wraps, these figures suggest that the ID Every1 is geared toward efficiency and everyday usability rather than long-distance journeys.

One can say that Volkswagen’s strategy is clear: the ID Every1 is aimed at making electric vehicles accessible and affordable for the masses in Europe. The car’s expected launch in 2027 means that soon, more people will have the chance to switch to a cleaner, smarter way of driving.
In addition to the ID Every1, Volkswagen is also set to reveal another exciting model—the ID 2 X crossover—at the Munich Motor Show in September. Together, these vehicles highlight Volkswagen’s commitment to a sustainable and data-driven future for mobility.
