The one-off WR-V gets advancements, including several dog-friendly accessories

Honda has recently launched an edition of its Honda WR V model in Japan tailored for owners and their beloved furry companions. This unique version, accessorized by Honda Dog using accessories, from the Honda Access brand, aims to enhance the driving experience for both humans and pets. The customized WR V includes features such as a designated passenger seat carrier for two dogs and a pet door cover in grey. Additionally, the rear seats are equipped with a seat suitable for small to medium-sized dogs, complete with leash anchorages. Optional interior stickers are also available to add flair and functionality.

Externally the Honda WR V showcases a plastic grille reminiscent of the famous AMG 'Panamericana' grille chrome accents around the light units and lower grille, a WR V badge on the front fender, and an eye-catching 'Honda Dog' decal, on the doors.

Car enthusiasts have the option to add a touch to their vehicle by choosing dog-themed aluminum wheel caps and key covers.

The Honda Dog merchandise has become a hit, in Japan after being endorsed by the famous 'Drift King' Keiichi Tsuchiya, who customized his Honda Odyssey with these accessories. This reflects Honda's dedication to providing pet options as seen previously with the canine enhancements showcased on the Honda Element Concept in California back in 2009.

Produced at the Hondas Tapukara plant in Rajasthan, India for both Japanese markets the Honda Elevate model closely resembles the WR V model in Japan. It shares the 1.5-liter aspirated petrol engine but is exclusively equipped with a CVT automatic transmission variant for Japanese consumers. Recent sales data indicates that Honda successfully exported 6,809 units of the Elevate SUV to Japan in March.

In the Indian industry, the Honda Elevate competes against popular models, like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyrider, and MG Astor. Honda is set to introduce an electric vehicle edition of the Elevate model in India by 2026 part of their 'Asian Compact Electric' (ACE) project showcasing the company's dedication to transportation options.
