Tata Motors Adds 4wd Technology To The Harrier Ev To Serve Performance Enthusiast Customers

Tata Motors adds 4WD technology to the Harrier EV to serve performance enthusiast customers

Tata Motors returns to 4WD technology with the Harrier EV that gives you 500Nm torque plus a 500km driving range. Company executives expect to debut the product in 2025.

At the 2025 Auto Expo Tata Motors displayed their Harrier EV for the first time and revealed they will re-enter the 4WD SUV market. Under CEO Vivek Srivatsa Tata Motors adopts modern technology in all vehicle designs to match market needs.

Our team has researched 4WD models for many years according to Srivatsa who believes this is the ideal moment to launch them. Buyers select Tata Motors Harrier EV because they expect high quality performance and stylish design even if emotional factors now influence their new car decisions.

Simplifying 4WD with EV Technology

The Harrier EV relies on electric motors to move its rear wheels and shows key design variations compared to its traditional fuel variant. Land Rover needed to redesign complex components from their ICE Harrier model to enable front wheel drive in the Harrier EV.

Electric four-wheel drive systems can easily work with a platform that uses two electric motors because a rear motor simply plugs in.

Through EV technology Srivatsa explained that machine updates become more accessible and simpler to implement. Driving electric propulsion systems delivers top-performance while enabling further all-wheel-drive optimization.

Despite its current backup function Tata intends the Harrier EV to become the primary electric family vehicle. These tests confirm that the vehicle delivers 500 kilometers of practical range which means it satisfies all daily operation specifications.

To fulfill its objective of providing dependable multifunctional EV Harrier models Tata Motors decided to add this practical feature.

What About the Safari EV?

The Harrier EV is Tata's main focus but company leader Srivatsa explains they may create an electric version of the Safari. According to Srivatsa their immediate focus is on the Harrier EV because market conditions don't require an electric Safari now.

Launch Timeline

Tata Motors planned to put the Harrier EV into production as the first quarter of 2025 began. This SUV model will transform India's vehicle market with 500Nm torque and premium driving features plus 4WD and luxury options.

As Tata Motors brings its brand into the future it adjusts its product range for Indian car market trends while developing electric vehicle systems to win customers.
