Newly launched Maruti Suzuki Swift is likely to get its CNG option soon
The new Maruti Suzuki Swift has been successfully launched. It has been one of the most anticipated cars of 2024. This car is an updated version of the 2019 Swift. Now, the reports are confirming that Maruti Suzuki is working on introducing a CNG option for the newly launched fourth-gen Swift in India in the coming months. The Z12E engine, which replaces the earlier K-Series engine, is new to the most recent version of the Swift. This 1.2-liter, three-cylinder, normally aspirated gasoline engine prioritizes fuel efficiency above power output, producing 112 Nm of torque and 82 bhp of power. Maruti Suzuki plans to introduce a CNG version of the Swift, which will be the first vehicle to pair the Z12E engine with a CNG kit, to further bolster the vehicle's environmental credentials. Even though the power and torque of the CNG version could be slightly lower, it still provides a more economical and ecologically responsible driving choice.
The future Swift CNG variant is anticipated to come only with a manual transmission, but the normal Swift provides a 5-speed manual transmission as well as an optional 5-speed AMT. This choice is in line with maximizing affordability and fuel efficiency for prospective purchasers.
The new Maruti Swift is currently available for between Rs 6.49 lakh and Rs 9.64 lakh (ex-showroom). Customers may expect a minor price hike with the addition of the CNG option, projected to be between Rs 90,000 and Rs 95,000 more than similar petrol vehicles.
