Maruti Suzuki E Vitara EV India Launch Date Revealed

Maruti Suzuki is all set to start its electric journey in India with the launch of its first-ever all-electric vehicle, or EV — the E Vitara — scheduled for September 3, 2025.

Earlier revealed this year at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo, the E Vitara is one of the big milestones for India’s largest automaker, underlining the nation’s progress along with sustainable mobility.

SIGNATORY PREMIUM EV with Nexa aura

The E Vitara will be sold through Maruti's premium Nexa retail network, signifying that the company intends for a higher-end, tech-friendly set of customers.

Being based on the Hyundai and Kia EV-dedicated Heartect-e platform, the SUV has an avant-garde design language that sticks closely to the EVX concept.

Each car exhibits angular headlamps with Y-shaped DRLs, rugged body add-ons and connected taillamps, which shine a confident perception along the roads.

High Feature loaded, High on Safety

Inside, it is said to deliver a tech-filled cabin with LED ambient lighting, a Harman sound system and ventilated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat with 10-way control.

On the safety front, Maruti is not taking any chances and is offering seven airbags as standard and a Level 2 ADAS suite consisting of adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist and a 360-degree camera system.

Battery, Powertrain, and Range

The E Vitara will be offered with two battery options:

  • 49 kWh pack with 346 km WLTP range, 142 bhp power

  • 61 kWh pack with 428 km WLTP range, 172 bhp power

The two models have the same torque of 192.5 Nm and are equipped with solely one electric motor system.

The launch of the E Vitara would come at the right time as the festive season would be here soon. It not only makes an entry into the EV market but also sets the benchmark in the Indian compact electric SUV niche with a robust combination of range, features and price.
