Bookings have been opened by Mahindra for its recent electric SUV offerings, the BE 6 and the XEV 9e, for the Indian market. The company applied the production formula and has already produced as many as 2,281 units and sent 1,837 units to dealers in the country. Now, two months after the launch, Mahindra has revealed the full pricing details of both models.
The BE 6 is priced at an extremely attractive entry-level price of Rs 18.90 lakh (ex-showroom), with five different variants offered. The base variant, called 'Pack One', with a 59kWh battery, will be delivered in August 2025. Next up on the range is the 'Pack One Above,' which is priced at Rs 20.50 lakh, and the 'Pack Two,' which commands Rs 21.90 lakh. The subscription option 'Pack Three Select' comes at Rs 24.50 lakh, while the top-end 'Pack Three' at a more significant price of Rs 26.90 lakh, with deliveries beginning as early as March 2025, has the bigger 79kWh battery on board.
XEV 9e starts at Rs 21.90 lakh (ex-showroom) for four variants. The entry-level 'Pack One shares the same delivery timeline as its BE 6 counterpart. The 'Pack Two' is set at Rs 24.90 lakh, followed by the 'Pack Three Select' at Rs 27.90 lakh. The 'Pack Three' variant, high-spec with the 79kWh battery, is available for Rs 30.50 lakh with March 2025 deliveries.
The biggest technical specifications are captured both in the BE 6 and the XEV 9e, which houses the same type of two battery packs: a 59kWh unit with a range of 557km and a 79kWh option with a range expanded to 682km. The XEV 9e comes with the same battery options but returns slightly differing ranges of 542 and 656 km, respectively. All standard versions offer an output of 228 bhp, while the higher variants yield 282 bhp. Both, however, share a torque of 380 Nm.
In terms of market positioning, the BE 6 competes directly with the Tata Curvv EV. In the meantime, the XEV 9e is unique within its segment for the time being, but it is sure to face increasing competition from new upcoming models like the BYD Atto 3 and the anticipated Tata Harrier EV.
Staggered delivery, from March 2025 for the top variants and August 2025 for the most basic models, seems to be part of a strategic rollout by Mahindra for smooth production and delivery.
