The Thar Roxx Star Edition debuts a striking Citrine Yellow hero colour, piano black exterior accents, and a more aggressive black-out aesthetic.
The SUV shifts to an all-black leatherette theme with suede accents and ventilated seats, while retaining its top-tier 10.2-inch dual screens.
Mahindra has officially expanded its lifestyle SUV portfolio with the launch of the Thar Roxx Star Edition. Positioned as a more exclusive and aesthetically premium iteration of the popular 5-door Roxx, the Star Edition has been introduced at an introductory price of ₹16.85 lakh (ex-showroom).
However, the Star Edition is strictly a design-led special edition, focusing on visual flair and cabin sophistication to keep the model fresh for 2026.
The Thar Roxx Star Edition stands out from the regular Roxx with blacked-out exterior trim that gives the SUV a more aggressive and upscale appearance. The front grille and alloy wheels are finished in piano-black, contrasting sharply with the body colour and reinforcing the variant’s premium character.
Mahindra has also introduced a new Citrine Yellow paint option as the standout “hero” colour for this edition. Buyers can also choose from existing shades such as Tango Red, Everest White and Stealth Black, offering a range of bold exterior choices.
Although the mechanical underpinnings remain unchanged, the Star Edition brings a feature-packed interior that enhances comfort and convenience. The new cabin features:
All-Black Leatherette Upholstery: Premium seats with suede accents for a tactile, high-end feel.
Darkened Dashboard & Trim: Most of the cabin surfaces have been darkened, though a beige roof liner is retained to prevent the interior from feeling too claustrophobic.
Flagship Features: Since the Star Edition is based on the high-spec AX7 L trim, it remains loaded with tech. You get the 10.2-inch touchscreen, a fully digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree surround-view camera, and the premium 9-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.
Mechanically, the Star Edition remains identical to the standard Thar Roxx. It continues to be offered with the tried-and-tested mStallion and mHawk engines:
2.0L TGDi Petrol: Delivering 176 bhp and 380 Nm, paired exclusively with an automatic transmission.
2.2L mHawk Diesel: Producing 172 bhp and up to 400 Nm, available with both manual and automatic gearbox options.
The Thar Roxx Star Edition is aimed at buyers who want the ruggedness of a Thar but with a level of exclusivity and "factory-custom" styling that stands out in a crowd. It continues to rival the likes of the Force Gurkha 5-door and the Maruti Jimny, while carving out a niche as a more premium alternative in the mid-size SUV segment.
