Biggest GST Price Cuts on Petrol and Diesel Cars in 2025
Recent GST reforms are a blessing to car buyers, with prices of petrol and diesel cars being reduced. The Carmakers have testified to the rush of the showroom footfalls and bookings almost immediately as the customers were flocking to take advantage of the new price cuts.
We are going to take a closer look at the cars that come with the largest savings.
Hyundai Venue – Price drops up to ₹1.24 lakh, with the SX(O) Turbo DCT variant seeing the steepest cut. The Venue now starts at ₹7.26 lakh.
Maruti S-Presso – Savings up to ₹1.30 lakh. The hatchback now starts at ₹3.50 lakh, making it one of the most affordable cars post-reforms.
Kia Sonet – Discounts of up to ₹1.35 lakh, especially on DCT trims. Prices now start at ₹7.30 lakh.
Mahindra XUV 3XO – Petrol variants now cheaper by ₹70,600 to ₹1.40 lakh, with the AX7L seeing maximum savings.
Kia Syros – The biggest petrol savings of all, with cuts up to ₹1.50 lakh. The range now starts at ₹8.67 lakh.
Mahindra Thar - Mahindra Thar 2WD Diesel LX is cheaper by 1.35 lakh, as well as other benefits worth 20,000.
Tata Nexon - The prices of diesel trims have come down by up to 1.55 lakh, and the lowest model components are 9.01 lakh.
Mahindra XUV 3XO – Diesel models will be cut 1,04,000 to 1,56,000, with AX7l leading the price slash.
Kia Sonet - Top diesel models are now shorter by 164,000₹, and the GTX+6AT is now priced at 14.9 lakh.
Kia Syros - It is the diesel's largest saving in 1.86 lakh, which makes its latest model of HTX Plus (O) AT much affordable.
The price reduction will be driven by the GST regime, which will ignite the stepped-up demand during the season of festivals, particularly the sub-4m SUV and mid-size SUV categories. The timing of buyers may not be better to propel into a featureful SUV at a much lesser cost.
