2026 Jeep Meridian Unveiled With New Design and Features

The Jeep Meridian is one of the pillars in the Jeep India lineup that was introduced in 2022, as it serves the needs of buyers who desire a rough but high-quality three-row SUV. Whereas India received an update of the ADAS in late 2024, it was awaiting a facelift. It has now reached abroad as Jeep announced the 2026 Commander (sold as Meridian in India) in South America.

Exterior Revisions

The 2026 update has a cleaner, sharper front design. The SUV has also had new reflector-style headlights instead of the old projector-type headlights, a smaller grille with a seamless connecting strip and revised fog lights built into the redesigned faux air vents.

The profile of the side has not changed and the SUV is now mounted on 19-inch alloy wheels, which give it a stronger stance.

Interior and Equipment Updates

Enter and the cabin is pretty familiar with some new upholstery materials and small design changes. The rotary gear selector is used in place of a traditional unit and this is a modern touch.

There is also a 360-degree camera, which gives Jeep better visibility, as well as a Wi-Fi hotspot (12 months free in South America). Such improvements will add to practicality and general high-end attractiveness. The 2026 Commander also presents the full Level-2 ADAS package as a standard feature.

Powertrain Options

In South America, the Commander offers three options, including a 176 bhp Flex-fuel petrol, a 200 bhp 2.2L diesel as well as a 272 bhp 2.0L turbo-petrol Hurricane4 that can take 0-100km/h in 7 seconds.

Conversely, the Indian Meridian should remain with its familiar 2.0L diesel (170 PS, 350 Nm) with a 9-speed automatic and AWD.

India Launch Outlook

Jeep India has not put on record when these updates would come. However, with the significance of the SUV in the brand portfolio, the updated Meridian might be launched in 2026, and thus it would compete better in the premium SUV segment.
