The registration authority allocates the vehicle number depending upon the running series, which would be issued per departmental rules and regulations. The allotment of Mark is done electronically based on the running sequence as per CMV Act's Rule 80.
The Karnataka RTO department has established guidelines that determine how Karnataka vehicle details should be entered into their database, including the type of number allotted, series, and registration period numbers to be allocated.
But what if one wishes to give his vehicle a unique number? Yes, there is a way of availing of that too!
The Karnataka vehicle registration department also keeps reserved numbers for those who want special ones. But you will have to undergo a bidding process for that.
