The Porsche Taycan's India launch was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic, and it was finally launched in late 2022. The new global edition of the car remains largely unchanged as compared to its previous model. The Porsche Taycan price starts from INR 1.53 crore and goes up to INR 2.34 crore for the top variant.

The Taycan is offered in five different variants - Base, 4S, GTS, Turbo, and Turbo S. The brand also offers Taycan Cross Turismo which has an extended roof line. Starting at a price of INR 1.74 crore, the Cross Turismo comes in 4S, Turbo, and Turbo S.

The new Taycan was designed to be different, as it was the first EV vehicle from the brand. However, the sloping hood and the fat-bottomed 911 back prove that it is a Porsche in the end.

• At the front, the LED headlights are equipped with Porsche's distinctive daytime running lights. It also features aggressive vertical air curtains in front.

• From the side, the aerodynamic design of the car becomes evident. The car has a broad stance and sits low to the ground.

• The brand's logo is tastefully placed into a tiny light strip at the rear. The shoulders at the back are particularly noticeable giving the car a robust personality. A pop-up spoiler is present at the rear of the Taycan. It is necessary to restrict airflow and prevent lift as speeds increase. You'll also get to see the 19-inch alloys in the base variant.

• The Taycan is available in 13 paint options.

• Being the sleekiest Porsche ever, the car has a 0.22 drag coefficient. This helps to generate better downforce and lets the driver manoeuvre around the corners easily.

Some of the miscellaneous exterior features include summer performance tires, auto-dimming and heated mirrors, adaptive headlights, adaptive air suspension, rear diffuser, etc.

The cabin of the Porsche Taycan appears to be functional and modern. The brand changed its interior design orientation and moved forward with an unconventional approach with this one. The car comes with a standard 2+2 layout.

• The Porsche Taycan comes with a 16.8-inch curved digital instrument cluster. The display has sharp and crisp graphics. It can provide services like onboard navigation or audio streaming in addition to all the essential vehicle data.

• To the left of the instrument panel is the central touchscreen which measures 10.8 inches. It can be utilised to access several other features as well.

• The 8.4-inch screen is located lower on the central console which can be used to access climate control.

• Infotainment features include Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, navigation, Bluetooth, and radio.

• The Taycan gets a massive glass roof on the top which brightens up the interior.

• Other optional kits include Sport Chrono Package, Porsche Dynamic Lighting System, Head-Up Display, LED Matrix main headlights, Park Assist Surround View, etc.

Some of the miscellaneous interior features include 8-way power-adjustable front seats, USB charging ports for front and rear passengers, dual-zone temperature control, and LED interior ambient lighting.

Along with Integrated Porsche 4D Chassis Control, the Porsche Taycan gets a fully galvanized steel-aluminium hybrid body frame. It is lightweight, durable and provides excellent resistance to impact.

• The Porsche Taycan comes with ten airbags, including front and rear side airbags and knee airbags.

• The list of safety features includes brake assistance, Porsche Traction Management, and automatic LED lighting. The brand also offers cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, traffic sign recognition, a rearview camera, and front and rear parking sensors.

• For an additional price, one can get a head-up display, lane-change assistance, adaptive cruise control, and a surround-view camera.

Euro NCAP gave the Porsche Taycan a five-star rating which is the same as the Ford Explorer and the BMW Z4. The crash test ratings from Global NCAP, NHTSA, and IIHS are not yet available for the new Taycan.

Porsche Taycan is powered by an electric engine (AC Permanent Synchronous Motor) that produces 326 horsepower of power and a peak torque of 345 Nm. It uses a 2-speed gearbox and a 600A pulse inverter. The Performance Battery of the Taycan can charge up to 225 kW and has a gross capacity of 79.2 kWh.

The top speed of the Porsche Taycan is 230 kmph. The car can reach 0 to 100 kmph in 5.4 seconds.

The Porsche Taycan almost cruises like a sports car, similar to a 911 or a Cayman. It provides a well-tuned suspension and high levels of grip. This results in a balanced and composed ride. It absorbs most of the bumps over the road with ease.

Due to its low stance, the body roll around the twists and turns is also minimal. Furthermore, the steering feedback is impressive and accurate as per the input. The cabin curbs all the outside noises effectively even while driving at a high speed.
