Additionally, there are two other variants available: one with a 1.4L petrol engine and DCT automatic transmission, priced at Rs. 20.37 lakhs, and another with a 2.0L diesel engine and manual transmission, priced at Rs. 19.49 lakhs. We shall take a look at the Jeep Compass base model, Jeep Compass Sport. Here, take a look at Jeep Compass features.
Jeep Compass sport is available in a 2.0L multijet diesel (6MT) 4X2, a 1.4 L multiair petrol (6MT) 4x2 and a 1.4L multiair petrol(70DCT) 4x2 engines. The 2.0-litre diesel engine seen in Standard Compasses is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The 2.0L engine gives off 170PS @ 3750rpm, while the 1.4 L engine generates 163PS @ 5500rpm. It is a highly appealing combination and offers ample power as well as strong performance, making driving a pleasure.
However, the package comes with some downsides including a snappy clutch and a gruff engine note, although the engine has been slightly improved after BS6. The ride of Standard Compasses is firm and it delivers excellent bump absorption and high-speed stability, making it a reliable and comfortable ride.
Jeep Compass's exterior gives off a luxurious, classy look. Now, when it comes to the exterior you also have to take a look at Jeep Compass's dimensions. Its base model is 4405mm in length, 1818mm in width and 1640mm in height. The wheelbase of the vehicle is also 2636mm. Full-length front floor console with sliding armrest, soft touch IP & front door trim, and rear arm with cup-holders are the added comfort features for the interiors of the vehicle. You can also enjoy your favourite music while driving this vehicle with the help of Android Auto and Apple Car Play. It also supports Bluetooth audio streaming and has a USB port.
Commuting in the vehicle is a hassle-free affair as it is also a very safe and sturdy vehicle. Some of the main regular safety features that this vehicle comes equipped with include the includeElectronic Parking Brake, Adaptive Brake Lights, Electronic Stability Control, Rear Wiper and Defogger, Reverse Park Assist Sensors, Driver and Passenger airbags, Front passenger seat belt alert and much more.
The challenging terrains nor the rough roads can stop the vehicle as reduced friction and enhanced performance add to the features of the vehicle. It is powerful and delivers a smooth performance which means that you don't have to put much effort into driving it. Meanwhile, the manual vehicle is said to deliver 17.3kmpl mileage with the diesel and 15.0kmpl with the petrol engine.
Jeep Compass it is concluded is one of the most affordable SUVs in India and its turbo petrol engine makes it a far more powerful vehicle as compared to its rivals. Also, when it comes to the top variant of this sensibly priced vehicle, it sports some premium features. Jeep India has disclosed price changes for its well-liked Compass and Meridian SUVs. With the update for RDE compliance, the base trims have seen a price reduction, while other trims have seen a consistent price increase of Rs 35,000.
It is significant to remember that these prices were valid as of March 31. Although it is advisable to verify with the specific dealer for confirmation, clients may still be able to find dealers with the leftover stock of the Compass and Meridian available at the prior rates.
Thanks to the updated pricing plan, customers can select their chosen SUV variant at an updated price range. It's anticipated that Jeep India will continue to provide alluring features and offers.
Jeep India has disclosed a price increase for its well-liked Compass and Meridian SUVs. The Sport automatic petrol edition of the Compass now has a starting price of Rs 20.99 lakh (ex-showroom), which is Rs 1.08 lakh less expensive than it was previously. But prices on all diesel trims have increased by Rs 35,000.
The Compass competes across a broad price range against vehicles, including the Hyundai Tucson, Citroen C5, and Volkswagen Tiguan at the higher end and Tata Harrier, MG Hector, and Hector at the lower end. Despite the price reduction, the Compass continues to be up to Rs 6 lakh, more expensive than the Harrier and MG's base prices.
On the other hand, the top-spec Compass costs Rs 2.56 lakh, Rs 3.82 lakh, and Rs 5.53 lakh less than the equivalent top-spec Tucson, Tiguan, and C5 models, respectively. Jeep has decreased the cost of the Meridian as well as the Compass. A price reduction of Rs 2.35 lakh brings the Meridian Limited to trim down to Rs 27.75 lakh with the manual transmission. (ex-showroom).
However, there has been a consistent price increase of Rs 35,000 for all other trims. The new pricing structure gives Compass and Meridian a competitive edge in the market, and it is anticipated that Jeep India will continue to provide alluring features and specials in the future to entice more buyers.
With the upgrade, the starting price of the Meridian is now approximately Rs 10 lakh less than that of its closest competition, the Skoda Kodiaq. Jeep India has also altered the prices of its Compass and Meridian SUVs. The identical 2.0-litre diesel engine, which generates 170 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque, is available for both SUVs. A 6-speed manual or a 9-speed torque converter automatic gearbox is available to customers. Only the Compass has a petrol engine, a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol with 163 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque, as the 6-speed manual transmission was phased out in December 2022. Additionally, it is the only one with a 7-speed DCT attached.
