The Q2 is the entry-level offering from German manufacturer Audi. The car is a 5-seater compact SUV, making it a popular choice for both city and highway driving. The latest generation of Audi Q2 was launched in India in October 2020.
The Audi Q2 is available in five variants: Q2 Standard, Q2 Premium, Q2 Premium Plus I, Q2 Premium Plus II, and Q2 Technology
Q2 Standard: The Standard is the entry-level variant. This car comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, LED Headlamps and Auto-dimming IRVM. It is fitted with fabric upholstery, foldable rear seats, and centre armrests. This variant comes with a Bluetooth interface, an Audi music system, and MMI Radio Plus for in-car entertainment. Another significant feature is the parking assist which makes urban commutes smoother.
Q2 Premium: The premium variant comes with all the above features, plus the Audi virtual cockpit, rear-view camera, and Parking Aid Plus. There's also an audio system upgrade with eight speakers.
Q2 Premium Plus I: Apart from the Premium features, the Plus I variant has more cabin storage and two USB charging ports in the rear. Also included are sports seats and cruise control for better functionality for highway settings. This variant also includes leather-leatherette upholstery.
Q2 Premium Plus II: The Plus II variant includes all the above features plus a better styling package. It comes with ambient and black styling elements. A flat-bottom steering wheel improves the overall driving experience.
Q2 Technology: The Audi Q2 technology is the top-range variant. This variant comes with a fully-packed styling kit with the S-line exterior package. Thanks to innovative smartphone integration capabilities, the Audi Phone Box in this car ensures seamless in-car entertainment.
Six airbags, speed-sensing door locks, and a keyless start are standard features on all variants. You can have a panoramic sunroof fitted at an additional price of ₹1.5 lakhs in any variant.
Although Audi Q2 is available in 5 variants, all its cars have the same powertrain and engine under the hood. The 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engine produces 187bhp and 320Nm of torque. The Q2 comes with a 7-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
The Audi Q2 has a top speed of 288 km/ph. It accelerates from 0-100 km/ph in just 6.5 seconds. All cars come with the powerful Quattro All-Wheel-Drive system for superior handling.
All variants of the Audi Q2 are petrol-powered. The claimed mileage of the car is 15.3 km/pl. However, on-road performance may vary.
Driving an average of 30 km per day, the expected monthly cost of petrol would come to around ₹4460, assuming that the petrol price is ₹91 per litre. This surmise makes the car reasonably practical for daily driving.
With plenty of standard features, good-looking interiors and exteriors and exceptional handling, the Audi Q2 makes a powerful statement on the road. However, if you're looking for more practicality and better infotainment tech at a lower cost, consider alternatives like the Volvo XC40 or BMW X1.
