VinFast VF 6 Caught Testing in India Ahead of Festive Launch

The Vietnamese EV automaker VinFast is getting ready for its official India entry and the company’s midsize electric SUV, the VinFast VF 6, has now been spied testing on Indian roads. The VF 6 was spotted after previous sightings of the VF 7, which marks Vinfast’s serious commitment to entering the Indian EV market. The VF 6 will be the brand’s entry to India's midsize electric SUV segment, with its launch expected during the festive season.

Bold Exterior With a Futuristic Touch

The design of the VF 6 remains unchanged from the model at the Auto Expo 2025. It has an unmistakable front end with full-width LED strips that form the letter "V" around the VinFast branding.

The 18-inch alloy wheels, suspension with very high ground clearance (190mm), and sloping roofline all lend to its sporty nature, albeit with ruggedness. The rear of the vehicle continues with the LED lighting theme and dead-center high stop lamp incorporated into the bumper to enhance the premium.

Minimalist Interior With Heads-Up Display

Inside, the VF 6's clean, easy-to-use interior features a very minimalist design, punctuated by its large 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

Interestingly, it doesn't have a traditional instrument cluster and the user's driving information is displayed right onto the windshield in a heads-up display. Premium features include a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, ventilated seats, and wireless smartphone connectivity.

Performance, Range, & Charging

The VF 6 is powered by a 59.6 kWh battery paired with a 204 hp electric motor producing 310 Nm of torque. The VF 6 can deliver 0 - 100kmph in 8.89 seconds and the WLTP certified range is 480km. The VF 6 has support for 7.2kW AC fast charging so it is suitable for urban and highway driving.

Great Feature Set & Competitive Segment

The VF 6 is equipped with Level 2 ADAS, seven airbags, a 360-degree camera, and auto braking, roll-over mitigation and blind-spot detection safety features. VinFast plans to make them locally to ensure a lower price point between Rs 17-27 lakh to help with competition against the Tata Curvv EV, Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, and MG Windsor EV.

The VF 6 is evolving to be a serious competitor in India’s EV SUV race.
