The Tata Curvv stands out as one of the first mass-market SUV coupes in India. Combining elements from other Tata models like the facelifted Nexon and the Harrier/Safari, the Curvv presents a unique and stylish alternative in the SUV segment. While Tata has yet to unveil the interior, it is expected to share similarities with the Nexon’s cabin. Anticipated features include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and a powered tailgate. Safety features are expected to include six airbags, a 360-degree camera with blind-view monitoring, and Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
Under the hood, the Tata Curvv will offer two engine options: a 1.2-litre T-GDi turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine will produce 125 PS of power and 225 Nm of torque, while the diesel variant will generate 115 PS and 260 Nm of torque. Both engines are expected to be available with a 6-speed manual transmission, with the petrol variant also offering a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT). There are speculations that the diesel engine might also get a DCT option.
Moreover, the Curvv will come in an all-electric version, though details about the battery pack and motor are still under wraps. The EV variant is expected to offer two battery options and a range of over 500 km on a single charge.
The Tata Curvv is anticipated to start at Rs 10.50 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it as a competitive option against the Citroen Basalt and other SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate. The electric Curvv is projected to be priced from Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom), rivaling the MG ZS EV, upcoming Hyundai Creta EV, and Maruti eVX.
