The 9-seater 2024 Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus has finally made its Debut

Mahindra Bolero Neo is a highly anticipated car of 2024, whose features, design, and rivals have been the tea of the Indian automotive industry for quite a long time now. This 9-seater car has a starting price of Rs 11.39 lakh (ex-showroom) and the top model is priced at Rs 12.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The Bolero Neo+ is a three-row, 9-seater version of the sub-compact Bolero Neo SUV. Additionally, Its origins go back to the TUV300+, which was phased out in preparation for the 2020 BS6 emissions regulations. Presently reincarnated as the Bolero Neo+, it expands upon the Bolero moniker, just like its 2021 sub-4m sibling did. However, the details are mentioned below:

Design and Exterior

In terms of design, the Bolero Neo Plus retains the same style elements as its sibling except for the front bumper which gets a slightly revised fog lamp housing, a bull bar-like design element, and a new set of 16-inch alloy wheels. However what differentiates both is in their size – the Bolero Neo+ measures 4,400mm in length, making it 405mm longer than the Bolero Neo, although the wheelbase has remained unchanged.

Overall, its boxy design, aggressive stance, and bold road presence remain unchanged. However, subtle enhancements in size and cosmetic tweaks distinguish the Neo Plus within its segment, offering a unique visual appeal.

Interior and Features:

About the Interior, it can be stated that the dashboard is the same as it was in the Bolero Neo, which itself hasn't altered much from the original TUV300+ throughout the years. Since then, the only noteworthy modifications have been a new steering wheel, an instrument cluster revision, and an upgraded 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

However, this arrangement is special since it has three rows (2-3-4 seating configuration), with two side-facing chairs in the last row. Notable additional features include manual AC, front and rear power windows, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, Bluetooth, USB, and aux connectivity, a 6-speaker sound system, manual AC, and front seat armrests; Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not included. ABS, EBD, ISOFIX mounts, and dual airbags are examples of safety features.

Powertrain

The Bolero Neo Plus is powered by a robust 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine, delivering a maximum power output of 118 bhp and peak torque of 280 Nm. Paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, this engine configuration provides sufficient power to the rear wheels, ensuring a smooth and responsive driving experience.

Safety Features

Safety features of the Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus include electrically adjustable ORVMs, anti-glare IRVM, improved safety features like ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seats, dual airbags, and an engine immobilizer, ensuring a safe and secure journey for passengers.

The standout feature of the Bolero Neo Plus is its ability to comfortably accommodate nine occupants across its three rows. This model is positioned as a larger variant of the sub-compact SUV Bolero Neo, targeting consumers who prioritize spaciousness. With its focus on tour and travel operators and contractors that rent cars to businesses, the Bolero Neo+ is essentially a people transporter. Consequently, it faces competition from models such as the Force Citiline and the soon-to-be Gurkha 5-door.
