Tesla to have its second India Showroom in Delhi Aerocity

Weeks after inaugurating its first Indian experience centre in the Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai, Tesla India is gearing up to open the doors for its second showroom today in the Aerocity district near IGI Airport, New Delhi.

The shift is an important step in the overall plan by the EV giant to enhance its presence in the major metropolitan cities.

Experience Hub and Showroom

As a consequence, the Aerocity outlet in Delhi can be expected to be both a retail showroom as well as an experience centre just like its counterpart in Mumbai.

The potential buyers can access the innovative technology presented by Tesla, communicate with sales, as well as book a test-drive. The introductory statement defines how Tesla wants to establish a huge brand presence in India, as well as giving customers an exclusive buying experience.

Model Y? - The Spotlight Star

The first car in the line the Aerocity showroom will sell is the Tesla Model Y crossover that will be launched in India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). Model Y (India-spec) will also come in two versions namely Rear-Wheel Drive and Long-Range Rear-Wheel Drive.

The similarities between the two are that they both have an impressive speed of 201kmph, 19-inch crossflow alloy rims and they have a sub-six-second speed of 0-100kmph.

Their difference lies in driving range; the standard Rear-Wheel Drive has 500km, and the Long-Range variant has a class record of 622km, under WLTP conditions.

A Strategic Market Push

Tesla has a fast growth in India based on the confidence the brand has in the emerging EV market in India. By establishing a showroom in Delhi Aerocity, where proximity to affluent consumers as well as international travellers is given, Tesla demonstrates that it is willing to focus on positioning itself as a luxury and tech-forward automotive brand.

As people become more aware of the existence of EVs, and the novelty of attaining sustainable mobility grows, the recent step by Tesla positions the company perfectly towards competitive action in the Indian market. The Delhi showroom will be a big attraction to the potential customers as also EV enthusiasts when it opens its doors today.
