Tata Sierra EV India Launch: What We Know So Far
  • The Tata Sierra EV is set to be officially priced in India on June 30, 2026, with two battery pack options on offer.

  • The electric SUV is expected to carry over powertrain options from the Harrier EV, with a claimed range exceeding 500 kilometres.

Tata Motors has confirmed that the prices of the much-awaited Sierra EV will be announced in India on June 30, 2026. The electric SUV has been building momentum for months, with the brand steadily revealing its exterior and interior details ahead of the big day.

For anyone who has been tracking India's EV market, this launch feels like a genuine milestone.

A Fresh Design with Purpose-Built EV Touches

The Sierra EV wears a design that sets it apart from its petrol counterparts while staying true to the Sierra's rugged identity.

Up front, it gets revised bumpers, new skid plates, and a blanked-off grille that signals its electric intent, along with Tata EV badging on the front doors and a charging port neatly positioned on the left rear fender. The alloy wheels get a fresh look in a dual-tone finish, and flush-fitting door handles give it a cleaner silhouette.

All-LED lighting runs throughout, complemented by an LED light bar on the fascia. Roof rails finished in black, a shark-fin antenna, and glossy black cladding around the body round off a cohesive, well-considered exterior package.

A Cabin Stacked with Tech and Comfort

Step inside, and the Sierra EV makes its intentions clear. The interior is centred around a triple-screen layout and a new two-spoke steering wheel featuring a backlit Tata EV logo.

Creature comforts include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, automatic climate control, and a cooled glovebox.

For connectivity, the SUV offers iRA connected car technology, a 360-degree camera, Type-C fast charging ports, and a wireless mobile charger.

Safety is handled by a full ADAS suite, while an auto-dimming interior rear-view mirror and a Boost mode add further polish to what is a thoroughly well-equipped offering.

Battery Options and Expected Range

Two Packs, Single and Dual Motor Configurations

Under the skin, the Sierra EV is expected to borrow its powertrain setup from the Harrier EV. This means buyers can expect a choice between a 65kWh battery pack with a single-motor setup and a larger 75kWh unit paired with a dual-motor configuration. The latter would bring a QWD (Quadra Wheel Drive) option to the table.

On a full charge, the Sierra EV is expected to return a claimed range of over 500 kilometres, a figure that would place it firmly among the more capable electric SUVs in its segment.

The Sierra EV goes up against the Hyundai Creta Electric in what is shaping up to be a fiercely competitive space. With its combination of a recognisable nameplate, strong feature list, and promising range figures, Tata Motors appears well-positioned for the June 30 reveal.
