Skoda Compact SUV Global Debut by Early 2025
Skoda has released another teaser for its upcoming compact SUV, showcasing the rear-end design. The SUV is set to debut globally by early 2025 and will go on sale by March 2025.
Platform: The SUV will be based on a shortened iteration of the MQB A0 IN platform, which also underpins the Kushaq, Slavia, Virtus, and Taigun.
Design Elements: The teaser reveals a strong character line that runs across its length, merging neatly with horizontally positioned LED tail lamps and an upright boot.
Styling: Expected to incorporate elements from newer Skoda models like the Epiq concept. Spy shots hint at a silhouette that will share parts such as the steering wheel, gear knob, instrument cluster, and HVAC controls with the Kushaq and Slavia. The compact SUV will feature shorter rear doors and a tighter rear overhang compared to the Kushaq, ensuring it stays under the crucial four-meter length barrier.
Interior Features: Alloy wheels, LED lighting, auto climate control, multiple touchscreen infotainment options, and cooled seats on higher variants.
Engine: The SUV will be powered by a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine, available with either a manual or a torque converter automatic transmission.
The new Skoda compact SUV will compete with models such as the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite. Skoda Auto CEO Klaus Zellmer mentioned that the price positioning against competitors will be very ambitious, with a target of achieving 75 percent localization.
