New Maruti Dzire VXI AMT: A Perfect Mid-Spec Blend of Features and Value

Maruti Suzuki has refreshed its highly popular sedan, the Dzire, with a range of updates across variants, including the mid-spec VXI AMT. Positioned as a value-for-money option above the base LXI trim, the VXI offers an appealing mix of features and affordability, with prices starting at ₹7.79 lakh (ex-showroom).

A total of nine variants are available, with the top-spec ZXI+ AMT priced at ₹10.14 lakh. For buyers on a budget of ₹8-9 lakh, the VXI emerges as a strong contender.

Exterior Highlights of the Dzire VXI

The Dzire VXI retains most of the new design elements seen in the lineup. The updated front grille and sleeker aesthetics add a modern touch, but premium lighting features like LED crystal vision headlamps and DRLs are exclusive to higher trims. Instead, the VXI comes equipped with halogen projector headlamps and turn indicators.

While the sportier fog lamp housing is present, the actual fog lamps are omitted in this trim but can be installed as accessories. The front grille features a glossy black strip accented with chrome garnish, adding sophistication.

Moving to the sides, the VXI rides on R14 steel wheels with full wheel covers and 165/80 tyres. All variants, including the VXI, feature front disc and rear drum brakes. Body-colored door handles, blacked-out B pillars, and body-colored ORVMs with integrated turn indicators enhance its appearance, while a shark fin antenna completes the sleek design.

At the rear, sporty Y-shaped LED tail lamps with halogen turn indicators and reverse lights stand out. A glossy black strip with chrome garnish and an aero boot lip spoiler add a dynamic edge to the sedan.

Interior Features of the Dzire VXI

Inside, the Dzire VXI offers an impressive tech package for a mid-spec trim. Highlights include a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering-mounted controls, onboard voice assistant, and Bluetooth connectivity. The instrument console features analogue dials with a multi-information display (MID).

Comfort features include a rear AC vent, chrome accents on AC vents and door handles, and electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs. However, premium features like a sunroof, cruise control, wireless charging, and Suzuki Connect are reserved for higher trims.

Safety and Powertrain

Maruti has made safety a priority with the new Dzire, and the VXI variant includes six airbags, ESP, hill hold assist, ABS with EBD, and reverse parking sensors. It boasts a 5-star Global NCAP safety rating, cementing its status as one of the safest cars in its segment.

Under the hood, the Dzire VXI is powered by a Z12E 1.2-litre petrol engine delivering 81.58 PS and 111.7 Nm of torque, paired with either a 5-speed manual or AMT. A CNG option is also available, providing flexibility for buyers.

For those seeking a balance of features, style, and safety at an affordable price, the Dzire VXI AMT is an excellent choice in the competitive compact sedan market.
