MG Windsor EV Pro Launched in India: Bigger Battery, Longer Range, Smarter Features

On account of MG Motor India, Windsor EV Pro has been launched at an introductory price of ₹17.49 lakh (ex-showroom) as an upgraded version of the Windsor electric vehicle. Designed for longer range, more features, and better interior comforts, the Windsor EV Pro is meant to set the new benchmark in the affordable premium EV segment.

For anyone going a step further and choosing MG's Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, the car comes at a price of ₹12.49 lakh, besides the battery cost.

Bigger Battery, Better Range: Upgrades Underneath

The most important upgrade includes a 52.9 kWh LFP battery pack, which, on a single charge, claims to offer a range of 449km, while the stock comes with only 332km (ARAI-rated). 136 hp, torque of 200Nm, and layout of front-wheel drive remain unchanged.

7.4 kWh AC charging is supported as well (full charging within 9 hours), while 60kW DC fast charging replenishes the battery from 20 to 80 percent in just 50 minutes.

Colours to Complement a Subtle, Slightly Revamped Exterior

The styling changes remain minimal and very tasteful. The only exterior enhancement seen in the Windsor EV Pro is a new set of 18-inch alloys easily comparable to those found in the MG Hector. MG also included three new colours: Celadon Blue, Glaze Red, and Aurora Silver, thereby enhancing its beauty.

Interior and Feature Upgrades

Inside, the Windsor EV Pro features a new Beige Interior theme, which creates an enhanced cabin ambiance. From a features standpoint, the level-two ADAS is added, along with a powered tailgate and V2V and V2L charging capabilities that allow the user to power a secondary electric vehicle or other gadgets. The slightly bigger battery, however, takes away from the boot space, which stands at 579 liters now, down from 604 liters.

Competitors and Strategy for Pricing

The Windsor EV Pro aims at high-range variants of the Tata Nexon EV, Mahindra XUV400, and the upcoming Hyundai Creta Electric. Its entry-level pricing is competitive, and the package is feature-rich enough to make any EV enthusiast and family car buyer pay close attention to the product.
