The Mercedes-Maybach S 580e gets a plug-in hybrid powertrain, with bookings open and deliveries scheduled to begin in November 2026.
It produces a claimed 585 bhp and 750 Nm, with an electric-only range of up to 100 km, alongside updated styling and new cabin technology.
The sedan will be available in the S 580e version for the Indian market. Bookings have opened, and deliveries are scheduled to begin in November 2026.
The new model introduces plug-in hybrid technology to the Maybach S-Class range in India, combining a petrol engine with an electric motor.
The Mercedes-Maybach S 580e uses an electrified 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged inline-six petrol engine. The petrol engine and electric motor work together to produce a combined output of 585 bhp and 750 Nm of torque.
The key performance figures include:
Power and torque: 585 bhp and 750 Nm.
Electric range: A claimed electric-only range of up to 100 km.
Acceleration: 0–100 km/h in 5.1 seconds.
Top speed: Electronically limited to 250 km/h
The plug-in hybrid setup allows the car to cover shorter journeys using electric power, subject to battery charge and driving conditions. The petrol engine provides additional power when required.
The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class retains the overall shape of the S-Class, with several changes to its front-end design. These include a larger grille, an illuminated Mercedes-Benz three-pointed star and revised headlamps with star-shaped daytime running lights.
Other exterior details include a redesigned lower bumper and an illuminated Maybach logo on the D-pillar. The car is also available with 20-inch and 21-inch alloy wheel designs, along with two-tone exterior paint options.
These updates distinguish the Maybach version from the standard S-Class while retaining the saloon's familiar overall design.
The cabin gets Mercedes-Benz's Superscreen layout, which combines three displays beneath a shared glass surface. The setup includes:
12.3-inch digital instrument cluster: Displays driving information for the driver.
14.4-inch central touchscreen: Provides access to the infotainment system and vehicle functions.
12.3-inch passenger display: Gives the front passenger a separate screen.
The system uses Mercedes-Benz's MB.OS operating system and fourth-generation MBUX interface.
Rear-seat comfort remains a key feature of the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class. The reclining rear seats offer heating, ventilation and massage functions, providing passengers with several options to adjust their seating comfort.
Priced at ₹3.35 crore (ex-showroom), the Mercedes-Maybach S 580e enters India's luxury saloon market with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. One of its closest alternatives is the BMW i7, which uses a fully electric powertrain and offers a similar focus on rear-seat comfort, cabin technology and passenger space.
With bookings open and deliveries scheduled from November 2026, the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class S 580e adds another electrified option to the high-end luxury car segment in India.
