Mercedes-Benz Launches Two New Models in India, Priced Over Rs 3.30 Crore

Mercedes-Benz has introduced two new high-end models in India: the refreshed Maybach GLS 600 and the AMG S 63 E Performance, both priced above Rs 3.30 crore (ex-showroom).

Maybach GLS 600

The Maybach GLS 600 starts at Rs 3.35 crore (ex-showroom) and features subtle exterior enhancements, new interior trim, and upholstery options. The model includes a refined grille, redesigned bumper, new LED tail-light signatures, and distinctive Maybach tailpipes. Inside, updates include a new steering wheel, revised AC vents, the latest MBUX software with updated graphics, telematics, a fingerprint sensor, and gesture controls.

The rear seats offer ventilation, a massage function, and a recline of up to 43.5 degrees, along with an extendable leg rest, a central tablet on the fold-down armrest, twin 11.6-inch MBUX screens, a 590W Burmester 3D surround sound system, Maybach-specific ambient lighting, a Level 2 ADAS suite, and the Energizing package.

The GLS 600 retains its AMG-sourced 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, now producing 557hp and 770Nm of torque, an increase of 40Nm. It includes a 48V integrated starter generator providing an additional 22hp and 250Nm boost. The engine pairs with a 9-speed automatic transmission, delivering power to all four wheels via the 4Matic system. This Mercedes has a 0-100kph time of 4.9 seconds and a top speed of 250kph. Standard adaptive dampers can be upgraded to fully active suspension with an exclusive Maybach drive mode. The car is available in colors such as Black, Polar White, and Silver Metallic, with dual-tone options. It rides on standard 22-inch multi-spoke wheels, while 23-inch deep-dish monobloc Maybach wheels are optional.

Mercedes AMG S 63 E

The AMG S 63 E Performance, priced at Rs 3.30 crore (ex-showroom), is the flagship variant of the S-Class in India. It features a plug-in hybrid 4.0-litre V8 engine and AMG-specific exterior and interior upgrades. The car showcases AMG-specific styling, including the Panamericana grille with a centrally mounted Mercedes logo, a sportier front bumper with large air intakes, and an AMG-spec rear diffuser with quad exhaust pipes.

Under the hood, the AMG S 63 E Performance houses a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine paired with a 13.1kWh battery and a rear-axle electric motor generating 190hp and 320Nm of torque. The total system output is 802hp and 1,430Nm, making it the most powerful S-Class ever. The engine is connected to a 9-speed automatic gearbox, with power delivered to all four wheels via the 4Matic system.

The car includes a 'Race Start' function for optimized launch, with a claimed 0-100kph time of 3.3 seconds. It offers eight drive modes, including an all-electric mode with a range of up to 33km and a 125kph speed limiter. Features like rear-axle steering, air suspension, active roll bars, and optional carbon ceramic brakes enhance ride and handling.

These new models reinforce Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to luxury and performance in the Indian market, offering advanced technology, high performance, and exclusive features.
