Maruti Suzuki is going to add an all-new Victoris (Escudo) to its SUV lineup, and the official reveal is scheduled for today.
Consequently, this new SUV will be positioned between the compact Brezza and the midsize Grand Vitara to lure those buyers who are after premium features but are not willing to step into the Nexa showrooms.
By utilizing Suzuki’s new Global C platform, the Victoris is going to be sold through Arena dealerships.
Although the Victoris seems to have a similar front as the Grand Vitara, the pictures of a spy shot indicate a more upright and muscular look.
A simple and fresh design with the trimming on the body harmonizing in color with the body itself, new wheels, and bright LED lighting can be anticipated.
Compared to the Grand Vitara, the new SUV is a little bigger, and as far as the seating layout goes, it is going to be a two-row seating with the dimensions of the car concentrating on space and comfort.
The new Victoris is meant to bring a completely different look to the dashboard and also present a new floating touchscreen infotainment system. It is quite probable that some of the key attractions will be wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, an Arkamys-tuned audio system, a fully digital indication for the driver, and also comfort features like a panoramic sunroof and ventilated front seats.
The safety features of the car will also be very good as the car is expected to be equipped with six airbags, ESC, 360-degree camera, and, along with higher trims, ADAS features too.
Maruti is likely to offer the Victoris with three engine choices:
1.5L mild-hybrid petrol: 103 PS, 137 Nm, with 5-speed MT / 6-speed AT
1.5L strong-hybrid: 116 PS combined, 141 Nm (Hybrid), paired with an e-CVT
1.5L petrol + CNG: 88 PS, 121.5 Nm, with a 5-speed MT
This diverse lineup ensures options for performance, efficiency, and affordability.
The Victoris, which is anticipated to be launched at ₹9.7 lakh (ex-showroom), will compete against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, and Tata Curvv. With its features-packed strategy and Maruti’s extensive network, it can make a big impact on the fiercely competitive midsize SUV segment.
