Maruti Suzuki has launched the Swift CNG starting at Rs 8.20 lakh (ex-showroom). Available in three trims – VXi, VXi (O), and ZXi, this marks Maruti's fourteenth CNG-powered vehicle in India. The Swift CNG is priced Rs 90,000 more than the equivalent petrol variant, making it a competitive option for fuel-efficient hatchbacks.
The Swift CNG lineup starts with the VXi variant, priced at Rs 8.20 lakh, followed by the VXi (O) at Rs 8.47 lakh. The top-spec ZXi variant, available as a CNG model for the first time, is priced at Rs 9.20 lakh. This broader price range allows Maruti to cater to varying customer demands, with a well-equipped hatchback option for those seeking higher-end features.

The Swift CNG is powered by the new Z12E petrol engine and delivers 32.85 km/kg fuel efficiency, which is 6% more than the previous K-series engine. With CNG, the engine generates 69.75hp and 101.8Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. While there is a drop in power output compared to the previous generation (77hp), torque is marginally higher. Maruti has retained the single large CNG cylinder in the boot, unlike newer twin-cylinder setups used by Hyundai and Tata.
